Have we had Revenance + Revivify yet?

Revenance can be cast on a character that has been dead for 1 round/caster level. It lets them walk around, alive, for 1 minute/level, at which point they die again. You can do this during battle if you have to, or you can do it after battle if you've got the time left, since it's one standard action. When they die again, cast Revivify, which is a True Res as a standard action that can only be cast on something that's been dead for 1 round, and boom. True Res for 1000 gp.

Might not be dirty enough, but still nice.

Could Revenance be DMM Persisted?
Not much point, since revenance doesn't fully restore your abilities IIRC.
My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
[spoiler]Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.[/spoiler]

You know, come to think of it, I can do better on the contact other planes shenanigans.

Make a numbered list of questions, with each question twice the value of the previous.  For example

1: What spell should I prepare in my first ninth level slot?
2: What would be the cost of the material component to cast trap the soul on the undead opponent I'm going to next face?
4: Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?
8: What color is the best for my room?
16: And so on

Then ask "What is the sum of the values of the four questions that would most benefit me to ask?"

Then convert it to binary, look up the index, surprise!  You have a DMG embedded in your face.

I played a bard who took several divination spells and lots of knowledges...  My DM makes jokes about me making him hand over his notes.

Which is, IMO the proper goal of a divination focused build.  Making your DM let you peek at his notes.

I'm really glad my players don't have any diviners.

I wing so much of the game, I really don't have much in the way of notes...  :embarrassed

unsure it its meets the requirement of beeing dirty enough but:

you can get yourself a +10 increase to your save dc with a couple of feats and an item:
  • dragon touched(needed for draconic aura) Dragon Magic
  • snowcasting Frostburn+[cold] descriptor to spells
  • draconic aura (cold) Dragon Magic scaling max +4 dc to [cold] spells
  • spellfocus (cold) Frostburn +1dc to all [cold] spells
  • greaterspell focus (cold) Frostburn +2dc to all [cold] spells
  • spellfocus(whatever necromancy or something) PHB +1dc to spells
  • greater spellfocus(whatever necromancy or something)PHB+2dc to spells
and
Icemail armor +2dc to all [cold] spells; also no arcane spell faliure for [cold] spells
found here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20030323a

Quote
Icemail Armor: A suit of icemail armor appears to be a suit of transparent breastplate armor carved out of ice. Although it feels cold to the touch, icemail armor keeps the wearer warm and protected from cold, granting cold resistance 30. Icemail armor is much lighter than steel, and although it provides protection equal to that afforded by a suit of +3 breastplate armor, it is considered to be light armor. It has a maximum Dexterity bonus to Armor Class of +5, an armor check penalty of -1, and an arcane spell failure chance of 15%. The arcane spell failure chance for casting spells with the cold descriptor drops to 0%, and the save DCs to resist these spells increases by +2.

Druids can wear icemail armor without violating their druidic vows, as long as they hail from an arctic climate.

Caster Level: 9th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Spell Focus (evocation), chill metal, protection from elements; Market Price: 52,000 gp; Weight: 15 lb.

now all you cold spells have +8 to the save dc you focus school has +10
and all your cold spell habe 0% asf in the armor above
(due to snowcasting all your spells are cold spells!)
your basic save dc is now 20+spelllevel+int
finish with something like fatespinner

throw out save or die/suck stuff

  • dragon touched(needed for draconic aura) Dragon Magic
  • snowcasting Frostburn+[cold] descriptor to spells
  • draconic aura (cold) Dragon Magic scaling max +4 dc to [cold] spells
  • spellfocus (cold) Frostburn +1dc to all [cold] spells
  • greaterspell focus (cold) Frostburn +2dc to all [cold] spells
  • spellfocus(whatever necromancy or something) PHB +1dc to spells
  • greater spellfocus(whatever necromancy or something)PHB+2dc to spells
  • Corrupt Spell Makes all your spells evil for +1 Level
  • Malign Spell Focus +2 DC for Evil Spells
  • Spell Focus (Evil)+1 DC for Evil Spells
  • Levels 6 and 10 of the Planar Wizard Substitution Levels +1 DC for Evil Spells, +2 if target is Good
  • Greater Planar Binding a Succubus with max levels in Fiend of Corruption and Fiend of Possession.
  • Mindrape said succubus, making it your loyal follower who will stay with you forever, and have it possess you and give you a +7 bonus to your spellcasting stat (+4 Profane and +3 Unnamed).
  • Be Venerable age, and use Steal Life to make your body young.
  • Buy a bunch of Souls in Larval Form +2 DC when you use it as an optional spell component
  • Take a hit of Mushroom Powder, your new favorite Drug for a +2 Alchemical Bonus to Int

+14(+15 if your opponent is good) to your save DC's for your chosen school.

Int is 46 (18+3+5+5+6+7+2)

So go ahead and cast a Corrupt Finger of Death (Level 8 Slot), for DC 51 Save or Die.

Kill Great Wrym Gold Dragons (CR27) with one spell 90% of the time.

I'm pretty sure these are all from the BoVD:
Corrupt Spell
Malign Spell Focus
Steal Life (not sure about this one)
Souls in Larval Form
Mushroom Powder

I'd guess this is from the Planar Handbook, but I'm not sure:
Planar Wizard Substitution Levels

Malign spell focus equals to Spell focus (evil) these days, IIRC.

Malign Spell Focus gives +2 DC and Spell Focus (Evil) gives +1 DC, I think they are different, but if they are the same then you loose +2DC, because Spell Focus (Evil) would be the version you use.

Corrupt Spell is in Complete Divine, the wizard substitution levels are in the Planar Handbook, Fiend of Possession and Fiend of Corruption are in the Fiend Folio, and everything else is in BoVD.

-Also, if you get a Soul Tick from Fiend Folio it will automatically empower all of your evil spells, which should be everything. Nice.

Violate Spell is actually better than Corrupt Spell. Corrupt turns half the damage into Unholy damage. Violate turns half of it into Vile damage, which can't be healed normally, even with magic, and also bypasses most resistances, like Unholy. Both turn the spell they're applied to Evil, and both cost +1 spell level.

And here is a not-so-dirty trick. Some of the Teeth of Dahlver-Nar grant +4 enhancement bonuses to various ability scores. They cost the same as the standard items, but don't take up a slot. So they are effectively "slotless" for free.

Honestly, it's a fairly standard sort of trick once you get fed up with limits on a few particularly icky programming languages...

Anyways, I just realized that instead of applying "explosive spell" to your ridiculously long ranged damaging locate city, taking the "bane magic" feat from HoH works almost as well, and is much more selective.  Want to give 2d6 + 1 damage to all the elves in the city?  Now you can.

If you have Delay Death, Masochism and Sadism, you could wrack up one hell of a large bonus to pretty much everything, while surfing the Locate City shockwave. After that just do the dunking trick to reset your hp right?

So you put that bonus into Perform, nobody's likely to be watching, but you'd look totally awesome while surfing the blast wave. It's not as effective as Bane Spell, but you can't say it's not awesome.:D
