It is indeed difficult to argue with such inspired Norrism, so I'll concede that as a correct answer.

(The answer I had in mind was "none."  Take the letter "N" from it and "one" remains.  "None" has four letters--more than two--but represents a concept that is less than two.)

I liked "a promise", but silence is correct.

If you can show that 11 is somehow less than 2, that would be an arguable claim.

Anyway, I look forward to the next riddle. :)

This is sorta weird, but I'm posting it anyway.  Came from a game I played in.

After an epic battle where we lured a Collosal Hydra-something to kill 6 Helmed Horrors, we stood in front of a massive white marble door with this inscribed around it.

"To see the world in a grain of sand
and Heaven in a wild flower
Is to hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and eternity for an hour."

If you can open the door, you gain a G-Fu.

Well, since that isn't really a question, just a quote, is this more of a "name that poet?" If it is, it's William Blake. If not, you might need to put the question. :P

Are you serious?  Thats a quote?  I'm so going to kill my DM.

No, the "answer" to that quote is how to get through the door.  If no one guesses anything after a couple days, I'll just say how we got through.  This could be completely off topic tho.

Yeah, it's from William Blake's Auguries of Innocence. It's the first stanza. This should make an interesting conversation with your DM. Hmm, let me find a site: http://www.artofeurope.com/blake/bla3.htm

Anyway, for getting past the door, I can only assume it involved an hourglass (grains of sand that pour infinitely as long as you keep reversing the hourglass, not sure on the relevance to the second line, again, the whole infinity thing as long as your hand keeps turning it, and eternity for an hour because an hourglass captures the essence of eternity [time] in an "hour" [hourglass]).

Well, my first thought would be to try to open the door by pushing or pulling.

Then I'd ignore the "poetic" aspects of the door and go get a grain of sand and a flower and hold them for an hour.

If that didn't work I'd throw one then the other at the door and possibly go find my Warblade friend and have him Mountain Hammer Strike his way through... :P

Or a Dungeon Crasher. They're pretty handy for stuff like this. Oh, or a Dustform cheese creature (infinite strength) because everything can be solved with brute force.

Should I mention that a scan of the door with Arcane Sight showed Epic levels of Necromancy, Evocation, Diviniation, and Abjuration?

Seeing as how I was the only character to ever higher than 10th level in this particular DM's campaign, I would have been standing roughly a quarter mile away from anyone that tried to "bash" his way through the door.

Um, that's what followers are for? They're disposable since you can always get more. Grunts are fun.

Impossible at this point in the game, its just you n your wits.

Thanks for that, btw.  I'm not suprised, really, he integrated alot of stuff from books into his games.  He'll probably get a kick that I found out about this particular tidbit, though.

Its a little more abstract than that, Nox.

Then I'd ignore the "poetic" aspects of the door and go get a grain of sand and a flower and hold them for an hour.

You're close, but there's a little more to it.

A flowerglass and a wild hour?

Let's see...  would I need to plant the wild flower by the door?  To be there for eternity?  In some sand?  After holding them for an hour?
