Not a bad guess.
But a blender is portable and I am not sure I would call the blades wings.

I thought of guessing that, but I don't get the "And, like a mother, who breaks her infant's bread,/I chew for man before he can be fed" part with regards to a windmill (though it makes perfect sense for a blender).

I see. My only exposure to windmills is their use for generating usable energy.

Originally was a few centuries ago, so getting electricity from them back then would have been quite weird, as they hadn't even invented steam engines yet. Instead, they were used to directly power things that were useful in those days, like sawing wood, grinding grain, pumping water, and some other physical things. You didn't think European countries would have been building their armadas all by hand, did you? ;)

No, but I typically picture water mills in my head, not windmills, when I think of how they powered such things. :P They don't (didn't) teach us the origins and applications of windmills. Besides, it's archaic technology. :P It's all about dams and turbines and nuclear power plants and super powers and megazords and pokemon these days.  :couch

A horse walks all day.  By the time he is finished, two of his legs have traveled exactly one mile further than the other two.  There is nothing extraordinary about the horse or the situation.

How is this possible?

So two of the legs are in front of the other two or the total walked is one more mile

Traveling in a circle, such as in around a field turning in the same direction every time?  Outside legs would travel farther than the inside.

Atrocity is correct.  The horse is walking in a circle, and has walked far enough that the outside two legs have traveled a mile further than the inside legs.

You're up.
