It's the letters of the alphabet, from "'H' to 'O'." Hilarity presumably ensues in response to this amusing riddle, causing riots, mass suicides, and gonorrhea the likes of which you haven't seen since you banged that midgit transsexual in Vegas on your honeymoon with your chain-smoking, compulsive-gambling alcoholic wife, whom you had then happily known for four hours.

EDIT: Okay, here's one:

What are the next two letters in the following series and why?

W, A, T, N, T, L, I, T, F, S, _, _

A and W.  Each letter represents the first letter in each word of the sentence.

What is the sentence?

"What are the next two letters in the following series and why?"

Riddles are fun. :eh

Anyway, here's the next riddle...

It's a strange case, thought Shadow.  The autopsy revealed that Dr. Probe died from cyanide poisoning.  His limp body was found lying beside the gas barbeque which was still hot.  The autopsy also revealed that Dr. Probe had just finished eating two hot dogs, a bag of potato chips and some cherries.  After a thorough search of the area, the police recovered a suicide note, the pen Dr. Probe used to write it, a book of matches, an old coin, an empty potato chip bag and a package of hot dogs and buns.  Since nothing else was discovered, Shadow was certain Dr. Probe was murdered elsewhere and his body moved to the suicide scene.  Why?

The barbeque was lit in an attempt to cover up the Dr's death.  If it was still hot, then there wouldn't have been enough time for him to eat the hot dogs and still have time to conduct an autopsy.

Nope.  Nice thinking though.

Nope.  It is unlikely to have a barbeque and then commit suicide... and the riddle's answer even mentions this fact, but that's not what aroused Shadow's suspicion.

Keep guessing. :D

Very well.  I will wrap myself in a ball of yarn, and have the yarn tied to the tail of a donkey.  The donkey, as he walks, will drag me along in a carriage rut, with only my big toe touching the ground.  Thus, I will come to you neither naked nor clothed, neither walking nor riding, traveling on neither the road nor the path.

(I did mention that classic Grimm fairy tales were a major part of my Master's work, right? :)

Though the version I have uses a net rather than yarn and I don't look good in fishnet.

A hunter leaves his camp.  He walks one mile due south and sees a bird.  He chases it one mile due west and spears it.  He then drags it one mile due north and is back at his camp.

What color is the bird, and why?

I'd say it's a penguin, and his camp is at the North Pole. However, penguins live in the southern hemisphere.

It can be done very close to the south pole as well (hough penguins don't travel that far from the coast).

The camp could be a bit more than a mile from the south pole.

He walks one mile south so that the circumference of the earth is 1/X miles long (1 mile circumference, or 1/2 mile circumderence, etc.).

He walks a mile 'west' and is right back to his original position.  He then heads north and returns to camp.
