Here comes the background! (this is the "condensed version", I am lazy
)
Ever since he was a child, Dalcyrr Llalee wanted to become a soldier, protecting his family and the small halfling settlement he lives in, as his forbear Illibrand Llalee did at the times the village was founded.
Whenever tales of ancient heroes were told, Dalcyrr could be found there, listening eagerly while his immagination galloped.
There was a problem, though.
Dalcyrr was bold in spirit, but his body was frail and even his younger brothers could win skirmish with him.
Growing up, he decided that the best way to help the village with his inability to fight, was learning magic.
Karsonne, a human wizard who lived nearby and helped the community from time to time, took him as his "apprentice in trial". Much to his surprise (and Karsonne's too), the Art was easy for Dalcyrr to learn and practice.
Becoming finally adult, all dreams of heroic battles and adventurous life where forgotten.
Untill two months ago, that is.
At that time, Dalcyrr had a dream: the village was burnt down, his family and all his friends were nowhere to be found. There was blood, smoke, fire. A distant howl could be heard, and then, darkness.
There he was, standing in the middle of nothing, useless.
He woke up knowing that wasn't just a dream. He knew something was about to happen, and decided he needed to became stronger.
"When the time come, I won't be useless" he sweared, preparing to leave.
Adventures weren't quite as pleasant as he thought when he was a child.
Some notes:
- Illibrand was actually a gold dragon who helped the halfling community to build the village and defend it in a remote past.
- Dalcyrr doesn't know about his ancestry, yet.
- Other halflings tend to call him "Goldskin" for the little gold drams that flecks his skin. (I know, unbelivable uh?
)
- @ aftercrescent: I took the arcane disciple feat, but I don't know the gods of your homebrew setting. I left that out of the background too, as you can see. Can I take the feat "worshipping a principle" as a cleric do? the principle in question would be "community/friends wellfare"
