Split House Rules/Creations?
« on: October 04, 2008, 04:42:01 PM »
There are a lot of very active house rule threads in the House Rules & Creations forum now (particularly from the Rebalancing 3.5 project), and they're pushing the homebrew very far down the list.

Maybe the forum should be split?
My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
I always thought the When Inspiration Strikes forum was for homebrews....

I was thinking of Inspiration as adapting from media, but homebrews work well for that too.  I could just move the homebrews there and leave houserules on the current board and change the name?

Sure.  The inspiration forum doesn't get all too much traffic anyway.

Fine by me, I've been using Inspiration for Homebrew anyway.

Nah. I'm against splitting them, it's pretty much the same thing; unofficial stuff you made that affects the game as a whole or in pieces.

... Unless you want a separate classes, spells, items, etc, sections like over on The Wiz? I'm not sure. It's more convenient IMO to have it all in one place without some members crying "off topic!" when you combine X, Y, and Z ideas.

The idea was to move homebrews to Inspiration Strikes.  Not split the Houserules and Creations forum.
