my mrs loves terrible / horror movies... if someone gets decapitated then all their friends die because they cant our run a stationary killer, she will love it.. her absolute favorite is 'The Entity' a total piece of crap..
i find its a very rare thing for a movie to be both good and horror / scary. i like most of cyro's list the 28s were good, pan's was excellent.. children of men..
despite the lack of quality i like phantasm 2,
i cant stand the japanese horror remakes.. those that meg listed..
while i wasnt overly fond of cloverfield, i will say it out blair witched the blair witch.. the BW 3 was the best of that pile of crap..
the grindhouse did a great job of one uping the 70s gore flicks..
i liked the first hostel and saw, not the sequels..
the old b&w the Thing is really good..
if gore, and/ or a menacing killer is all you have to offer, im not going to like it.. except for phantasm which has the car..
scream did a great job of suspense, but its not overly rewatchable..
the og night of the living dead was the first movie to give me nightmares.. i think i was 9... staying across the hall with neighbors on halloween.. i had never seen anything like it... 'there coming to get you Barbara' , actually what did it was the couple trying to get to the car and gas.. for the record this was 1983? so if your under 25 i dont wanna hear it..
quarantine has potential...
i just read a terrible review of blindness, i had been looking forward to that..
anyway, give me legosi and lon channey over eli roth any day..
