He does have telekinesis - he used it in the bank.

I wonder if he actually acquired the illusion power in the previous seasons - he cut the woman's head open but his powers were supposedly not "on" at the time. He could do so much stuff with that...

(Am I the only one whose vision is "polluted" by D&D ? Molly -> Discern Location, Parker(s) - > Read Thoughts+Suggestion+Phantasmal Killer, the "new" guy who I shall not name -> Dominate or perhaps Control Body, the Haitian -> Mindblank/Modify Memory/AMF...)

Peter is the DMPC with an overpowered custom Su ability (something like Replicate Casting at will with fewer limitations). ;) Sylar is an Illitihid Savant. Claire is Troll-Blooded has the Tarrasque's Regeneration. And so on...

If you think about it, the Haitian is the most powerful Humanoid (Augmented Human) on the show, owing to his diverse abilities- foremost the ability to shut anyone else down.

Heh, that's the kind of debate where everybody will have a different opinion. The Haitian is certainly very powerful, but he has to actually be close by to make things work - that's pretty dangerous. Even deprived from his ability, many a "hero" can still shoot with a gun.
I'd argue Peter is more powerful (of course the Haitian is made to do fewer dumb things by the scenario). Time-stopping, time-travelling, telekinesis, telepathy and regeneration are enough to trivialize most tasks. :)

The only hero I'd put over the Haitian is Future Hiro I, where he's a sword-wielding "badass", but only because nobody in modern times would be able to properly defend against a sword.  His dampening range is fairly effective, and if you get within touch range, he can make you forget you had powers.

Now if Peter could imitate the Haitian... :smirk

we have not seen anyone 'shoot' at the hatian yet with an ability, like the fire, cold, vortex, whateva...

he can stop powers from starting, but its not been shown if they dissipate around him..

Peter = Shapechange?
Peter is a Blue Mage who learns new skills by loring his foes.
Which in D&D terms means "Pun-Pun".
Tiers explained in 8 sentences. With examples!
Tiers break down into who has spellcasting more than anything else due to spells being better than anything else in the game.
6: Skill based. Commoner, Expert, Samurai.
5: Mundane warrior. Barbarian, Fighter, Monk.
4: Partial casters. Adapt, Hexblade, Paladin, Ranger, Spelltheif.
3: Focused casters. Bard, Beguiler, Dread Necromancer, Martial Adapts, Warmage.
2: Full casters. Favored Soul, Psion, Sorcerer, Wu Jen.
1: Elitists. Artificer, Cleric, Druid, Wizard.
0: Gods. StP Erudite, Illthid Savant, Pun-Pun, Rocks fall & you die.
This is true.  He's got most of the same challenges and liimitations as the D&D antimagic aura, though I'm sure he's trained to not engage targets head-on.

That's a far more accurate model of power acquisition.  Fu for you.

Nah.  For me, it's Marvel characters.  Mostly fairly obscure ones.

Peter-Mimic
Sylar-Super Adaptoid
Haitian-Leech
Claire-Madcap
Jessica-Brother Voodoo (yes, he gained super strength by channeling the spirit of his dead brother!)
Parkman's Dad-Mirage
Maja-Plague
HRG-The Punisher.  Only considerably more badass.

I guess that makes Mohinder the Lizard.

I wouldn't consider The Punisher to be "obscure".  I thought Mohinder was more like Man-Spider, than Lizard, what with the webs and stuff.

Tracy Strauss - Iceman (fixed for gender, of course)

Hmm.  Maybe more like a U-Man, then.  If you really want to peg some of the more obvious ones, then Pyro, El Diablo, Magneto, Invisible Woman, Lady Mastermind, Kitty Pryde, Electro, and Quicksilver all come to mind.

i find it odd that people rate peter and sylar differently. they have the same base power and have gained different additional powers.

they are two sides of the same coin.

Peter picked up some of Sylar's powers from Sylar (telekinesis) ; the reverse isn't true. That tells me Peter has an edge...

Another ability Sylar stole that I'd like to see used: the super-brain-computational-power of Hiro's American "girlfriend".

Hey, now, I said mostly obscure.

And, no, Mohinder's Jeff Goldblum from the really bad remake of The Fly.  I'm just waiting for him to say "I'm...getting...BETTER!"
