ok, I've posted the character sheet over in Min/Max to get help.  I'm considering taking the regional feat Long Reach for use w/ the Longspear, if thats ok.  I'm not sure about feats...

Anyways to abuse Jump at level 1 (besides what its intended for)?
Jump as in the skill, I assume? Not much of note at level one, but warblades and swordsages get some maneuvers (in tiger Claw, specifically) that rely on jump checks. The first level one is a boost that lets you jump somewhere as a swift action. Needless to say, the mobility is great.

I already assume I'll be running 2 games, much like arch/noob
I wouldn't suggest that.  From everything I've seen the sweet spot is a single 6 man group.  Run multiple plots if you do multiple games.  Basically, Sinfire is a better model.

I was thinking 6 man groups too. I figured I could put each group in its own copy of a setting. The plots will develop based on the party, is my philosophy

Factotum for me. So basically the others in my group can play whatever they want. :)
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

Copycat. :P
JK. Two factotums might be fun. One can cover what the other doesn't.

This game will NOT be upgrading to 4e.

Let's stick to 3.5 when possible, although I'll allow just about any source under the sun, because odds are I can find access to it.  Just please let me know what obscure sources for what purpose are being used.
I'm a very happy man.  What setting are you thinking? Basic, generic D&D? Great wheel cosmology?

Whatever it is, I'm in, if you'll have me.  If the race and classes are cool with you, I'd like to play a Hellbred Cleric/Warlock/Eldritch Disciple/Hellfire Warlock, background and basic build as outlined in my Hellbred Eldritch Disciple thread from last year.  He'd probably be most effective as a 5th party member, but he could function as a primary healer too, if need be.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Huh. Funny thing, a buddy asked me about exatly this sort of build a few hours ago over msn. Funny coincidence. Unless... *pulls on ksbsnowowl's face to see if he's wearing a mask*

Homebrew setting, although feel free to use setting specific material. We'll adapt ;)  I'm a fan of the basic D&D cosmology, although I may have a few extra twists and turns added :D

All of that sounds fine by me. I'll read your thread later and double check, just in case. :P

hum I'm probably considering a Dragonborn Crusader focused on WR stuff (probably with Song of the White Raven/Dragonfire Inspiration) with a two or three level dip in Marshal. That be a good party face too.

Just so you know as you read it, the background assumed 2nd level when he "began adventuring," as mechanically he didn't leave the church of Kord until after he gained eldritch blast.  But, that shouldn't be hard to alter, since he begins without control of it anyhow.  So it happened a few times before, and that's why he left.  It just coincidentally won't happen again until we reach 2nd level... :sh

Everything else in the "background" he will grow into as we play.  (At least it gives the DM a head's up and fodder for his plot...  :wink)

I'm looking at a Factotum Jack-of-all-Trades style chara, just 'cause I haven't played one yet.

Ah good. I'll be more of a Factotum combat-specialist, with an emphasis on maiming flatfooted opponents.
I'll also be happy to cover knowledges if you'd rather do the trapfinding and stealth.

Sounds good to me. I'll cover stuff like UMD and UPD, along with trapfinding/lockpicking. Just wait 'till I get my hands on some wands. :D

Ah, I think I mistook my prereqs from that book...  Yeah, I can't take it.  I'm going to take Battlejump instead, later take Leap Attack Shocktrooper.  Maybe a level of Barbarian at sometime, for Extra Rage and the Imperious Command trick later on (and Lion Totem variant, for pounce, of course). (I know, its not optimized to do the Barbarian level later, but I think that Vigor aura at 1st is worth the lost skill point... do you all?  Or should I just go Barbarian 1, and set it up to go Dragon Shaman after?  Is there a better base race pre-Dragonborn than Human?)

edit: switched it to a similiar-styled Barbarian, will go into Dragon Shaman at 2nd and continue afterwards.

Expressing interest. I would apply for the arcane caster position, or 5th wheel with a Beguiller or something...

If there aren't too many people, I'd like to express interest as well. It's been a while since I've played a warlock, so my in-game play may be a little rusty. Since I'm supposed to be a warlock expert, I'd like to knock that rust off. I saw two other warlocks mentioned, though, so I could do something else as well.

Definitely starts at level 1, as per JJ's suggestion ;)  Gotta make you all optimize at all levels :D

I need to find someone to get in cahoots with for my character concept them... It's a...

Sorceror... Yes...

And his... Familiar...

 :eh

I call a spot if someone's willing to do some PMing or emailing to go in on it with me.

 :D

Runner would need to be in on the cahoots as well, of course.
