Robo Rally: Any fans here?
« on: September 01, 2008, 06:49:26 PM »
At the moment, it's probably my favorite board game.  I've played Puerto Rico and plenty of others, but this one stands out.

It's plenty of fun, and moderately easy to play.

Hell yeah! Crazy fun for everyone. Radio control kills are probably the most awesome idea ever.

Settlers of Catan is infinitely better than Puerto Rico, IMO. But for an hour's mayhem, you can't go past Robo Rally.
I know gameology-fu.

I've heard good things about Robo-Rally.  Never played it though.

I heartily recommend it.  There are a couple of rules snags where they aren't clear what they mean, but it's great fun.

Just don't do what I do... which basically means don't be dumb...  I'm sure Dan2 can attest to that.  :P  It's a great game though, I would recommend it as well.

Yep, definitely a fun one.  Some of my gang will play it from time to time for fun with don't have time for more lengthy games.

Thread necromancy!

I've played it twice.  I think I'd like it better if I practiced more.  It certainly is a different game, but damn if it isn't frustrating if you miscalculate a move or turn early in your sequence.

Totally true.  Historians believe that most past civilizations would have endured for centuries longer if they had successfully determined Batman's alignment.

Why are so many posts on the board the equivalent of " Dear Dr. Crotch, I keep punching myself in the crotch, and my groin hurts... what should I do? How can I make my groin stop hurting?"

I love it.

Until I turn over the cards, and one of the executions was mis-calculated totally throwing my robot off course...

Heh, most people I know have never even heard of this game. I demo'd it at gencon in 2005 and thought it was just about the funnest game ever. Haven't played it since though. I should consider picking that up sometime.

I enjoyed it when I played it even though I had multiple fatal miscalculations and turns of fortune. Not my favorite by a long shot though, still loving Small World for that.
I don't employ memes. Mass-produced ammunition, even from reputable manufacturers, tends to malfunction on occasion.

My personal favorite is pushing people's robots onto conveyor belts. :D
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.
