Fahrenheit 451

And in a similar vein, I'm reading Something Wicked This Way Comes.

I just finished reading Jennifer Government. *winks at Tshern*

The plot was pretty good but the characterization was subpar at times. Still, a nice read - especially for the NationStates crowd.
You can tell the author had relatively little experience, but the book itself is entertaining.

And I got my first Carlin book yesterday, haven't started with it yet though.

Beowulf - bought new, with notes scribbled in by a bookstore browser.    :notam

Have fun with those. I've got all three of his books, and they are without a doubt some of the funniest books I have ever purchased. Everyone here should get a copy, it's worth the money.

Finished the Gormenghast trilogy, it was good, would have been excelent but for the end of the third book, which kind of brought the rest of it down for me.

Now I'm reading The Riddle of the Wren, by Charles deLint, my absolute favorite author.

I'm now onto The Shadow Rising in the Wheel of Time series. Not having to wait years between the books has made reading them (over) a great deal more enjoyable.

I'm also starting The Name of the Wind which someone(s) here recommended.

The author died before finishing the book, hence the somewhat unsatisfying conclusion. It was supposed to be at least five books long, not ending part-way through book 3. Another unfortunate death.

Oh, I hadn't realized...and that does explain it.  Makes me sad though :(

The Banjo & Kazooie Nuts and Bolts cheat book because the text on the screen is so eye bleeding small, I have no clue what the hell the objective is, what I'm supposed to do, where to go and so on.

That makes me sad. Banjo Kazooie isn't supposed to suck. >.>;;

I'm finally almost done with The Singularity Is Near.  I think after this I'll either be reading An Evil Guest by Gene Wolfe or House of Leaves.

Then maybe start rereading the Solar Cycle.
Still came that eldritch, mocking cry - "Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li!" and at last we remembered that the demoniac Shoggoths...had no voice save the imitated accents of their bygone masters.

I'm currently reading the Complete Chronicles of Conan; all the published Robert E Howard Conan stories, none of the derived works.

A friend of mine has been telling me for years about how cool Conan is in the stories, nothing like the movies, great pulp fiction etc.  So far, so good!

I recently read this as assigned reading:

Before anyone asks, here's me at the den.

It wasn't assigned by a prof. It was assigned by a chick I RP with. She wanted me to expand my base for writing smut. Also, it seems that the male lead in the book is suspiciously like myself in a number of respects. She wanted to show me a book written about myself it seems.
