The Devil in the White City

It contrasts the events of the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 with the activities of H. H. Holmes.

Yeah, the colorings of your Avatar are quite similar to the book cover, and ... Charm Person and Flesh to Stone could be rather romantic.
Although WotC_Mel didn't think so.

Just finished Ender's Shadow.  Good read, now its a tossup between Shadow of the Hedgemon or War of the Twins.

I myself just started Ender in Exile, the new Ender book that just came out last year.  I've read everything else in the Enderverse.  How much of the series have you read?

Been trying to find a copy of this for my girlfriend. None of the local libraries have it. I'm almost finished Bad Prince Charlie, it's a fairly funny satirical fantasy-type novel.

Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning French.

I went to French Immersion for elementary school and jr.high, but haven't really used it in the 15 years since, and recently discovered that I've forgotten nearly all of the vocabulary and a good chunk of the grammar.  Now one of my English students wants to learn French, so I'd better brush up!   :o

I know the feeling. Swedish is our second official language, but I haven't really used it after I went through the matriculation exam around four years ago. Kills your vocab pretty darn quick, but I only need five minutes to start picking it up again. Good thing I have a few cousin who speak Swedish...

I'm also starting The Name of the Wind which someone(s) here recommended.
That would be me. You'll thank me before too long.

With the holidays and all it has taken far longer than I thought, but thank you. :D I loved it. I eagerly look forward to the second book which appears to be due out in April...

Now onto Lord of Chaos, by Robert Jordan. Then maybe The Host, by Stephanie Meyer. And I still need to re-read Ender's Game and the Twilight series.

And now I'm onto The Unhandsome Prince, also by the author of Bad Prince Charlie, John Moore. This one's a fairy tale parody in which the frog prince turns out to be kinda a dweeb.

I just finished Kushiel's Dart. I'm impressed with the amount of different shit that went on in that book. The ending made me go NO FUCKING WAY!!!! But that's a different story.

Arrrgh!  I'm all outta books again!
I alternated back and forth between my Call of Cthulhu and Other Strange Stories, and The Devil in the White City, and I finally finished the last bit last night!

What should I read?  I'm thinking of getting into the Dark Tower series, but that may get expensive...  Are there any D&D related books that you guys'd recommend?

The only King I've read so far was The Stand.

Just ordered the Gunslinger (revised edition) off Amazon.  Should have it in a few days.   :D

Started reading a book about Stalin's life until 1917, very interesting. It's a fresh book, from 2007 I think, and has heaps of previously unreleased material. I own the first Stalin book of the same writer, The Court of the Red Czar, and it was awesome as well.

Notably, this is my first book in Finnish for over a year. Next one is a Kafka, can't wait...

Still need to find the time to continue Malazan Book of the Fallen - Gardens of the Moon.

I just don't like reading for something like 30 minutes, I want to just sit down and read at least for 2-3 hours...
