The guy seems to be a douche, well at least in my opinion.  But then I'd like the line up these asshole conservative chickenhawks and send em to the the front lines they are wanting to engage so much.

My political ideals aside though I have to appreciate the sarcasm of that apology hehe.

I'm with PI on that one. I did find it funny, and liking 4thEd does not make one a moron.

I didn't find the stat comment even remotely insulting. I rather chuckled, like when I hear my mother talking about Magic Missiles without knowing a thing about them.

What gets me is the concept of a preemptive apology for this. (Don't mind me, I'm going to harp on about this for a bit.)

See, if you hear a preemptive apology these days, it's usually because you actually like the group in question, but you're either pointing out a flaw they have or telling some sort of joke in mixed company. What you don't get is, "Hey, guys! Sorry for what I'm about to say: You're acne-spotted fucktards. Don't bother leaving your elves and +3 swords of slaying to come vote. We don't need your kind here."

Um...yes, but the idea that playing/enjoying 4E makes you an idiot - how does that follow?

Mostly because 4.0 was deliberately designed to be Final Fantasy PnP... except it doesn't work, because those types of games are only viable when fast paced. As in auto attacking the huge HP mob only takes a minute or two, not an hour or two. That's one of many factors, with the likely implication being that advocating an inferior product as superior reflects negatively upon one's intelligence.

Of course this is just guesswork since I'm not sure which of the many reasons he was playing off of.

Exactly.  The first sentance was fine.  The next part just seemed like either another insult or pandering (just a flattering sort of insult).
