The Fantastic Five (Or was it Four?)
« on: August 18, 2008, 02:53:05 PM »
There are some pretty awesome people on these boards all united by gaming. Yet the question remains, which ones of them would you sit down at the table with to play an RPG? Pick your top 5.

  • Josh. Why? Because he's friggin hilarious.
  • Tshern
  • Sunic_Flames
  • Bobismyrhino
  • Ubernoob

lolwut?

Edit: Okay, I hate picking people, but here go: Mister_Sinister, PhaedrusXY and carnivore are given, because I have very good experiences about working with them and following their posts. Especially with Mister_Sinister who turns out to be cooler every time I talk to the guy. Damn weird. PhoenixInferno, SixthDeclension (wouldn't say this just because you named me, you know I don't work that way), Caelic and Eldariel are all good candidates and I really can't choose. Nor do I really want to.

I still am damn surprised I got nominated even though I be a good roleplayer.

I refuse to pick just five.  Here are the people I know I would like to game with though:
Sinister-Duh.  I'm already in his game, and we are pretty good friends.
Sunic-If you've been watching anything you know Sunic and I get along.
Meg-Would like to see if she can put her optimization where her mouth is.
Caelic-I like the guy.
Jaronk-I also like the guy.
Tsuyoshikentsu-I'll get my game running eventually.  Just a bit busy right now.  Gimme some time.
CantripN-Cool guy, but can't post as often anymore.
SDK-Same deal.
PhoenixInferno-Can't leave out the enforcer.
Surreal-Always helpful
Tshern-Turning into a Surreal, but with a little more european feel.
Mohji-I love my big bro.
TG-We really want this asshole back.

I think that's all I've got for now.  Just people that come to mind easily.

And for me that would be a short list. I agree with each and every one of those (especially with Tshern), but you can't win every time. I suppose I just need to start another version of Dispatching the message and start adding in people. With the list ubernoob gave (switch me for SixthDeclension) I would need to start two more games although some of the suggested people wouldn't be able to join.

It would be easier to list the people who I wouldn't LOVE to play with.

And yeah, ubernoob, I didn't list you, but don't take it as an offence. I told you I hate to pick people as I can never choose as many as would want to. All elementary school soccer game shit's coming back to me again...

In the spirit of the OP, I'll try to list 4 or 5 folks that I can think of off the top of my head that I'd probably enjoy a RL game with. In no particular order...:

Caelic: Has nice, wacky ideas
Surreal: Helpful, and has some similar interests as me
TreantMonkLvl20: Seems to have experience and fun
Bhu: More, and more wacky, ideas

That would make a party of four with some sort of DM thingy. I'd probably enjoy gaming with most of the posters here, I just thought of those guys first. Half the fun is just in the interaction, and that is harder to gauge over the interwebs; some folks prolly just wouldn't get along...Not me of course; I'm the easiest person in the world to be around. Just ask me and I'll tell ya. :D

I gotta agree with Tshern & ubernoob that there are just too many people to choose from...  However, staying in spirit, I'll pick 5 off the top of my head.

1. Zeke
2. SDK
3. Josh
4. PI
5. Bobismyrhino (btw, she really is fun to game with, SD. It's alway an amusing adventure)
The cake is a lie.

I'm not surprised or offended.  We disagree in minor ways all the time.  I don't dislike you either, but you're not in my top five.

Making it to the top five in this crew of people is not exactly the easiest task.

SorO_Lost, that guy is funny, plus he has hits on all the hot women I want to.

Meg, her voice really is sexy.

Contradictus, the god of atheists, posts in my head every now and then. I enjoy a good laugh at him too.

Hmm, number five... I can't count that high so four will have to do.

Which 5 of you people can actually show up for a game?

That five.

(It seems that my issues with dating extend to gaming.  People say they want to game, then not show up, and not even call if they aren't.)

I've got two people that show up regularly.  No one else can be arsed to show up when they say they will.

The cat burglar showed that you have wit, humor, creativity and drive. And in any game I'm in, those things have to come from somewhere.
Partially, I also chose my list from apparent age as well...not maturity, age :D

So you were aiming for 36 year olds then? lols (many thanks for the copliments kind sir).

I'd definitely invite Chemus and Dman, I've enjoyed chatting with them elsewhere.  As for the other 3....well there's a lot of people here I wouldn't mind seeing.

If I'm running though, you'll have to have a sense of humor.  I run some really surreal campaigns.  My PC's once had to arrest a retarded ogre who was sodomizing people with pine cones.  The looks on their faces were....interesting when they got the assignement (you'll notice I said arrest as opposed to kill).
