So you wouldn't mind if I copied it here and to my hard drive under your name?
Absolutely not.  I'd actually appreciate it if you were so kind.

Is it fair to assume that the handbook section has taken over the "recording handbooks" part of this thread?  :confused

Come again? I am afraid I do not understand the question. I am still providing links to the specific handbooks, but now when you reminded me, I'll toss a link to the Handbooks childboard as well.

You pretty much answered my question...

I was wondering if you were going to continue to record the individual handbooks, now that they're being stored in the handbook subforum...

Not too much of a drag, so I can just as well keep adding them here. It's not like it harmed anyone, right?

Changed the formatting of the links to personal build compendiums as I find the current one making it easier to find a specific thread and reading through it casually is now easier too.

The original format:
-Link to the thread (link carries the name of the thread) by the username of the author.

The new format:
Username of the author: Link to the thread (link carries the name of the thread).

Is this better or worse than the original one?

Better. Definitely a good choice. I'd remember who had the build before I remember the name of the thread. Plus it's nicely alphabetized.

That's what I figured. And sometimes you might want to skim through to see who has a build compendium and this way that is easier too...

In case someone cares, I rearranged the first post. Handbooks and building guides section went through some changes and I'd like to know if it looks okay now. I arranged everything alphabetically and named each section by the prestige class/theme the threads are about. Not too important yet, but if we start getting multiple threads dealing with same topics this will be worthwhile.

How does it look?

I've started a 4e handy links back at WotC (though it's just a placeholder for now). Do you think it would be simplest if we just kept the indexes contained within their own forum? It's not to segregate or anything, but really just to simplify things from an organizing standpoint (though we can crosslink anything we feel is particularly important). Tshern can maintain stuff here at BG, and I'll maintain over at WotC. Just put a big bold link at the top of each index pointing to the other one and call it a day. How does that sound?

Some Handy Links for CO Work (WotC 339 version) - a compilation of links for base/prestige class handbooks, tactics, spellcasting, character builds, D&D databases, etc.
Archived version of the above with working links

The Mango Index - a giant index for all things D&D and where to find them
The Mango List Reborn! - rehosted by KellKheraptis

Lists of Stuff - listing of class features etc and how to get them, etc. sort of like above but a little more specific and sorted by category
Polymorph, Wildshape and Shapechange, oh my! (comparison charts) - side-by-side comparison of all the various form altering abilities
Alternative Class Features
alternative ways to get class skills

I think that's a pretty good arrangement, but Tshern has the final word :)

I like that, no problem, the section for WotC links was started because of someone's request, but so far no-one has wished me to link anything there. Well, apart from the COmpilation that is. Keeping stuff on their respective boards is probably the smartest thing to do. Maybe we could both add a link to each others' Handy links? How does that sound?

Additionally, I think I am going to start another Handy Links here for the 4e stuff. Hopefully that is okay with everyone too.

Edit: Oh yeah, Surreal, mind throwing me a link to that new Handy links of yours?

Heh, I actually had to dig for it. I didn't even have the 4e CO forum bookmarked yet.

4e CO - http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1040675

3.5e CO - http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=482636 (I pretty much have that thread number memorized at this point)

Do we have any Supermount-stuff on these boards? I was just about to start writing Mounted Archery-section for the Archery Handbook and figured I'd want to link to some stuff about pimping out the Mount, but I don't know if any have gotten transferred yet, and Gleemax is dying for a change.

I don't think we do. Too bad really.

Btw, today I asked if I can get the RopeCon days off from work. I sure hope I can...

Hoping for the best regarding the Con. Good luck : P

Hmm, does Caelic have an account here? I think he, or maybe JaronK/tsuyoshikentsu who also seem to have been quite active in the process, should transfer it over (I personally lack intimate expertise on the subject).
