Our Goal in Min/Max It!
« on: May 16, 2008, 09:41:08 PM »
As the title says, what do you folks want out of this board?  Personally, I'm most interested in having a seperate space for 4e CO work.  If this board could be made manageble, I think it'd be best for it to cater to all systems.

What are your thoughts?

I think, this would be a great Alt to WOTC CO,
A replacement of WotC CO, with the full SurrealDex and all the handbooks +1
and
A mix of 4e and 3.5, but if possible 4e and 3.5 with separate subs?

I voted for the replacement option but I cannot see why it could not be a replacement as well as a location for 3.x and 4.0.

Shouldn't we like wait till we have finished the catastrophe at WotC and see how drastic measures are needed?

I voted for a full CO replacement but also with sections for both 4E and 3.5 I just think that a stable environment is more conducive to creativity and community, so it makes sense to support a cool place like this.

That's why you can vote for two options, and have the ability to change your vote if needed later.

The catastrophe at WotC is as finished as it needs to be IMO.  I'd prefer not to discuss it in this thread, though, so let's table that line of inquiry.

I'd like to see this be for optimization of any system. I imagine that a lot of us came from the CO boards that a lot will be 3.5E and 4E optimization anyway, but if someone wants to talk about Shadowrun Pornomancers, why not?

If they have Pornomancers in Shadowrun, then I've been playing the wrong system all along.

I'll be doing this. I've just taken a few preliminary steps in case of full on feces-collision.

Its from this thread, and talks about Shadowrun's version of the Diplomancer:

http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=11911&view=findpost&p=363920

Elf with 7 Charisma (since only one stat can be maxed out, and it will be Magic for this build) and 6 Magic (but reduced to 5 from bioware). Qualities: Adept, Aptitude/Con, First Impression, Home Ground, and Mentor Spirit (Seductress). Get Con at 7 and specialize in Seduction. For adept powers, get Kinesics: 5 and Improved Ability/Con: 3. For bioware, get Tailored Pheromes: 3.

That's 7 (Charisma) + 7 (Con) + 2 (specialization) +2 (Home Ground) +2 (First Impression) +2 (Mentor Spirit bonus) +5 (Kinesics) + 3 (Improved Ability) +3 (Tailored Pheromes) = 33 dice.

Congratulations sir, you've gone beyond Gigolo, and have invented the Pornomancer Adept.

GM: Three guards at the door. They want to see your SIN.
ADEPT: Are they women?
GM: No.
ADEPT: Are they gay?
GM: No.
ADEPT: I'm going to seduce them anyway. *rolls 28 successes* They're gay for me now! I release my godlike tower of man-meat, and it is pleased.
GM: Stop! Stop!
ADEPT: I say to the guards: "Behold my enormous SIN!"
GM: Every police station in town saw your SIN. Lone Star surrounds you. They're about to arrest you for violating every public nudity law ever made.
ADEPT: No problem. I seduce them too.

Not that waiting for results actually prevents us from using this board as well. As a matter of fact, I find this an extremely nice place. Just that it's easier for players to reach our help at WotC and one of my reasons for being there is helping people.

:bigeye:D

My friend wants me to play in a Shadowrun game.  I'm going to unleash this on his poor, unsuspecting self.

With a cybersamurai backup, that is.  Once he realizes that I've broken his game and needs to arbitrarily execute me.  He did invite me to make the most broken character I could though...

That's pretty awesome.

I'd also love some suggestions for min-maxing my scrabble game. I keep leaving the triple letter scores open, and my foes manage to two-way an X. It's sickening.

I could only pick 2?  But...  I wanna replace the WotC boards, have both 3.5 and 4 ed covered, and cover any other non-D&D game out there...

Also, if there is support for it, I will move the summoner's handbook over here.  But I don't want to be the one maintaining it, and it is supposed to co-exist with all those lists of good summons already in existence.  Please don't make me move all of them as well...

Well, covering any and all game no matter system kind of includes those two versions of D&D :-P

Replace WotC and 3.5/4e place, but if it was possible, I would vote for all of the options...
