What turns you on?
« on: August 01, 2008, 06:52:54 PM »
I really wanted to title this "What gets me wet/hard" but well...  That's just biased against folks with ED.

I was also thinking of putting this in the relationship advice thread, but I think it's more than just that.

What turns you on?  Sexually or not (just clarify so we're not all grossed out like with Andrew's Culinary Boner comment.  Top Chef fans?  Anyone?)

1) I've re-watched Dr. Horrible a couple of times and when Neil Patrick Harris has that evil smile when he decides he wants to kill Captain Hammer, holy crap.  Hawt.  When he gets all confident and evil in general, he's super hot.  That's related I guess to the discussion about girls liking the asshole, but who cares, it's like musical porn.

2) Edward in the Twilight Saga.  *sigh*  I feel like a 13 year old girl when I read (and re-read) those books, but he's super hot, especially in Twilight, the first book.  Jacob black, her Native American friend gets super hot especially in the 3rd book Eclipse too.  The 4th book comes out tomorrow so I'm bouncy like a schoolgirl waiting for it, half with excitement and half with embarrassment that I could be so drawn into something so "pop" and teeny-booperish.  Then I remember I do in fact have a vagina.

I'm 200 pages into Twilight.  Probably going to head to the local release tomorrow to try and get some numbers.  I want to *be* Edward.  He's just as cold as I am, but he gets to be one of the beautiful people.

As for what turns me on, I like forcefulness.  Life is boring if you get to decide everything and most people are too intimidated by me to try and wrench control.  I'm not a sub, but I like to actually try to maintain control.

That is probably the best reason for a guy to read Twilight right there.  Bravo my friend.  Bravo.

Yeah...  Mohji had been telling me to read it for a week.  When I found out there was a book release in the works I finally agreed.

Because Girlfriend is reading over my shoulder, I'm going to smile charmingly and say "my girlfriend!"

She punches hard.

The hurt look and weak whimper of AstralFire after I punch him in the arm, clearly.

Or biting. Biting and nibbling and teeth. Doesn't matter who.

Let's see here, what turns me on...

The ability to keep up with me intellectually is a huge one.  Very few people can do that (I didn't say women specifically because most people aren't as smart as me, and I have the testing to prove it. I didn't want to insinuate women were stupid and men weren't. Compared to me, nearly everybody is stupid.)

Most body types have equal attraction to me, I like most body types from slim and athletic to brick shithouse.  I don't like women who are so thin I can see their ribcages and pelvis (big turnoff for me), and I don't like women who are obese to the point they have trouble moving, but anything between that is fine with me.

Also, I like confidence in a woman.  You can tell the types are confident in themselves by the way they dress and conduct themselves.  Being too uptight or too slutty shows confidence issues, if you ask me.  Somewhere in the middle is nice.

Having a good sense of humor is good too.

To the more superficial aspects, I like women with piercings and tattoos.  (I'm planning on getting some work done, I want to get my septum pierced and two in my eyebrow as soon as I figure out which eyebrow, I don't want to accidentally advertise something that I'm not selling, if you catch my drift.)

Furthermore, I like it when women aren't automatically intimidated by 300 pound men with hair halfway down their backs wearing a Paganfest 2008 concert T.  I think that's where I went wrong the last time I got shot down by a woman.   :smirk

My wife has this denim skirt. It isn't short or anything, it's actually down to her feet, but it is incredibly sexy. I dunno, it has this diamond pattern, just wow. Also, Monica Bellucci does funky things to me, or I wish she would.

I don't find myself, um, aroused by any books I can think of. Malena (a Bellucci movie essentially about how hot she is) is another story though. Brotherhood of the Wolf has its moments, too.

Also, this seems like a weird topic and I'm not actually sure why I replied. Oh well.

I love women in general, most can turn me on quite easily. Obese/anorexic girls on the other hand are no go. I can say that I totally HATE plastic surgery and disregard any girl that even think to (except for wounded or those with terribly oversized breast that lead to back pain and stuff, I'm not an idiot).

Geek girls tend to turn me on the most tho. Kari from mythbuster has to be the hottest girl around followed by Emily Deschanel (Bones).

Okay, so now that my gf is gone.

Pretty much anything BDSM.  Leather and latex.  A chick who can handle a sword.  (And I mean a blade.)  Not trying to at like a slut.  (Yes it's possible to do this and dress BDSM at the same time.)  Cynicism.  Acerbity.  (Seriously.  No, Meg, I'm not making fun of you.)  Uhm... if I'm sparring with an otherwise attractive girl it tends to get me a bit hot for her.   I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting.

When I spar/train with women, I get all brother/sister with them almost automatically.  Too bad.  Lotta hotties.
Ironically, when my gal attempts to fight me/get away/refuse my advances that gets to be loads of fun.  Odd.
I can't leave out performing :P...

I must say that on the few occasions it has occurred I did enjoy wrestling or sorta play-fighting with girls.

Beyond that, I'm old-fashioned (especially for my age).  I find intrigue, nuance, and anticipation all to be far more interesting than just a strip naked and jump in the hay kinda thing.  That really goes for most everything in life.  I can't stand Larry the Cable Guy for example because every time I watch his routine it's like listening to an alarm going "GET IT!?  IT'S A PENIS JOKE!  GET IT!?  IT'S A PENIS JOKE!"

I realize this is somewhat in contradiction with how I actually act, but I feel that sarcasm is just plain lost on the internets.  People too stupid to understand intrigue, nuance, and anticipation are frankly a turn-off for me, and go figure the internets are full of them.

Oh... This "list" would take up a few pages for me.

Just tattoo smut across my forehead, will ya? My mind is always in the gutter.  :lol

People usually think that I've lost my mind. I haven't lost it, I know exactly where it is: the gutter.

To respond seriously, I am an absolute sucker for -voices.- I... actually think at an abstract level. Like I don't remember images, I remember words my head made in response to those images. Good wordplay is the most erotic thing ever.

I learn and remember by association. I don't do graphics well, which might have something to do with the fact I am nearly blind. If I associate someone with positive qualities, they will be regarded as such. Someone associated with negative qualities, likewise. That's the start. I'm very selective.

Sunic may be more abrasive than sandpaper coated in chainsaws (not that its a bad thing, he really does know what he's talking about), but just posting in this thread without warning and telling him he's an asshole which, if you knew his past experiences on WotC and Paizo is flat-out uncalled for. Never mind the insults (which are clearly 4Chan-level childish). You say people like Sunic are the bane of the internet? Try looking at your own post and telling me you are better than him.
