I have been challenged

Specifically I have been challenged to design an expansion for the Arkham Horror board game. 




Based on My Little Pony...

Standing in the way of my success is my absolute and total lack of knowledge about the show...

So any ideas on where to start?

First episode of Friendship is Magic, continue from there. Or if you find yourself disliking the show after the few initial eps, just drop it. The notion of getting the newest memetic fad (MLP this time) and putting it EVERYWHERE annoys the hell out of me.

Moderate bronies are fine though.

I watched 4 episodes (the first three, and one that was supposed to be hilarious) at the beshest of my bronie friend. I really wanted to like it so I could be in on the jokes... but there as only 1 funny joke in all the episodes I watched. I felt no connection to the characters because they were stereotypical, and the plot was predictable. I was sad not to like it. My adice would be to find a few bronies and ask them what they liked the most from the series: quotes, characters, memes, etc. These are what you base a game around, not the show itself.

My advice
If you feel that you want to face the challenge, start with episode one and two (as they introduce the individual characters and their personalities). If you feel that you can manage one or two more episodes but probably not the entire series you could check the Wikipedia article and read the episode descriptions as each episode tends to have a theme of sort (read: just pick the parts you like). Otherwise, watch all of it and love it, like a real man.

Looks good so far. I'll see if I can contribute something more later on

Applejack and Rainbow Dash should have more Stamina than Sanity.
Fluttershy and Rarity strikes me like the other way around.
Twilight and Pinkie should be 50/50.
But that's just my gut reaction.

As for abilities:
Pinkie should reduce Sanity loss by 1, with all her singing away the fear. Or maybe give back Sanity like the phsychologist.
Fluttershy should have "The Stare", reducing/re-rolling rolls to sneak past (or in this case, make them back down and go away).
Twilight should really have an affinity for magic, lower cost or more "hands" or starting with more spells or somesuch.
