No need. I already will have claws, so unarmed strikes aren't necessary. Although... If I give up armor proficiency does that mean I also give up AC Bonus with armor?
True, though they only do a d3... but I guess the base weapon damage is always less than the other stuff you're doing.  And you would get Monk-style AC (so AC bonus and Wisdom to AC).

Quote
Also, if I get Weapon Focus (from Swordsages 1st level) in a weapon that I don't have proficiency in (like th spiked chain for xample) what happens? Do I get the proficiency AND WF or just proficiency or only WF?

Hm... I don't think so, and that's an oversight on their part.  You don't actually get the WF feat, just the benefit of it, so if you use a spiked chain you get a +1 to attacks with it, but unless you take the EWP feat you aren't proficient with it.  Probably they should have given swordsages proficiency in discipline weapons only... One way around this is to take a level of Warblade and any EWP, and then you can trade it around to whatever exotic weapon you want with weapon aptitude.

Another possibility (brainstorming again, I'm addicted) is a Tibbet.
Nah, I'm fine with the cat.

BTW. Where can I roll th attributes? If you mean at home then could you roll for me? I don't trust myself. :smirk

No problem.  Stats can be rolled here -- http://www.invisiblecastle.com/  Just curious, why do you think rolling stats is unfair?

What Monk-style AC? You only get monk unarmed strike progression. Or am I missing something? ???

'Cause one player can roll high and another low. I know, you risk, you gain, but it's still unfair.

Hm, it's not explicitly in the adaptation section, but it makes sense to me that you would get the Monk AC bonus in addition to your Wis bonus.

Why don't you do it again, and use the Grid method since it does the same actual rolls but gives you more flexibility.  I like the PCs in my games to be dynamic, with highs and lows.  Makes them more interesting, I think.  :)

I'll go with the negative level idea and later I'll just buy it off. The race I wanted to play is an anthropomorphic cat. Class - Swordsage. A sneaky, scoutish type of character.
So basically Puss-in-boots?  :P

The campaign sounds fun, but I'm not so interested in playing something with the "younglings" theme personally. What about a warforged that the PCs dig up/find somewhere? It could be a forgotten artifact from the long past, or whatever fits your world best. As it isn't required to eat or breathe, it could be just fine sitting dormant for years or even centuries buried somewhere, until someone happens along and releases it.

I'm thinking of making it a dragonborn warforged, and saying that it was made by a long forgotten civilization of reptilian humanoids, before the rise of "man". I'm not sure what class I'd go with. I'm toying with the idea of a cleric to a long-forgotten dragon god.

Would this work OK? Or is it too far out there?

I played a warforged artificer in one game that had been buried under a volcano eruption for 3000 years.  He was very shiny.

That's great -- a ton of flavor there.  It actually works very very well with the plot, as well, particularly if we can have whatever catastrophic event led to his burial also give him some holes in his memory.

Dragonborn is a kewl idea there -- maybe they were trying to build an indestructible dragon robot?  Then you could go Dragonfire Adept (they built a dragonfire generator in your throat) and throw on some Adamantine Plating.

Man, you roll mediocre. :D  Did you put minroll(2) on as an extra option?

I rolled for you once, just to see how it worked, and got:
       Str    Dex    Con
Int    15     11      16
Wis   17     10      15
Cha  17     13      16

You can use that if you want, or do it 1 more time.

Well, Dex is mediocre, but overall the rolls are much better then mine, so I keep yours.

I'd want to go N wizard

Oops, I missed you!  Any particular ideas wizard-wise?  In terms of the setting, whatever your race you probably would have been trained by one of the elves in Fayland Water, unless you are originally from Silverhaven.

probably a Dwarf wizard,,unless a more exotic race is available ;)

What sort of exotic races?  Like I said, we can come up with a way to explain pretty much anything you want to do.

Dwarf wizard is fun, I've never seen one before.  Runesmith, Battlesmith, Dream Dwarf Diviner -->Earth Dreamer?  Something else entirely?

Ahh... FFX, great memories...  :D

For now I'll wait for the others to decide their alignments then, I'll choose my PC.

If the skeletal Jurassic Park is far off the setting, or is a problem at all let me know, it wouldn't be a problem changing the idea.

I was thinking of taking the "breath" aspect from Dragonborn, and then the Dragon Wings feat (and Improved Dragon Wings) later. So yeah, going for the whole "mecha-dragon" thing. :D I can do that without even choosing my class levels, though. :p

I worked on a character like this a while back for a game that never really took off. Here is the thread where I brainstormed. I went back and forth with a few different build ideas, and wound up just going with a straight psiwarrior in that one. One idea that was abandoned early on was a glaivelock fear-o-mancer, though.

I'd be interested in joining, maybe. It as been forever since I've started a game at level 1, and my IRL playgroup pretty much stoped caring about seeing each others for now and I need my D&D. I'm totally new to pbp though, so I guess I'd probably need some pointers sometimes. >.<'

I'll work some ideas for a character later though, I'm somewhat busy right now.

This is my first time in PbP as well, so it'll be a learning experience for us both.  Should be fine! :)  Glad to have you on board.  Whenever you get a chance to throw down some ideas, I'd be happy to brainstorm with you!
I'll just go into details here about my character then. I've got a question on chargen though: are flaws and traits from UA allowed? If they are, how many can we take?
