I'm joining a game that uses extensive homebrew, and have taken levels in a class that gives me a magic weapon that is also an NPC. I'm going to have the NPC be a cleric, and it will also be able to cast spells on me as with the Share Spells ability a wizard has with its familiar. So obviously being a "buffer" is probably the best route to take. The "cleric" can't use items at all, though. So no Nightstick fueled DMM jazz. Also, I'm locked in with the vampire deity Kanchelsis (by choice), but the deity was also granted the Hunger domain, as the DM found it fitting.
So where should I go with this? Just DMM: Persist it up? Any other interesting options? The main character can be found
