Help with a cohort-cleric
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:36:55 PM »
I'm joining a game that uses extensive homebrew, and have taken levels in a class that gives me a magic weapon that is also an NPC. I'm going to have the NPC be a cleric, and it will also be able to cast spells on me as with the Share Spells ability a wizard has with its familiar. So obviously being a "buffer" is probably the best route to take. The "cleric" can't use items at all, though. So no Nightstick fueled DMM jazz. Also, I'm locked in with the vampire deity Kanchelsis (by choice), but the deity was also granted the Hunger domain, as the DM found it fitting.

So where should I go with this? Just DMM: Persist it up? Any other interesting options? The main character can be found here.

This is basically all I have for the cleric (and it is pretty subject to change):

character sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=333037

Human (construct) Cloistered Cleric 6
Domains: Trickery, Hunger, Knowledge Divine Magician
Feats: Extend, Persist, DMM: Persist, Extra Turning x2, Invisible Spell
Flaws: ?

Divine Magician Spells:
1st: Critical Strike (sorc/wiz1 Div, +1d6 Skirmish, double threat, +4 to confirm, swift action but persistable)
2nd: See Invisible
3rd: Vampiric Touch?

This PrC looks awesome: http://guilesworld.sudymodesign.com/role-playing-games-stuff/dragonlance/necrotheurge-of-chemosh.html

[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Meh. The weapon can just cast them for me. It would let me get ahead a bit in the action economy, but 4th level spells aren't cheap.
