I'm thinking of playing an imp/Master of Snake Mountain who hates wizards... and when asked why, he gets furious and goes on a rant about how they think they're sooooo smart, and who gives them the right to enslave smaller creatures as "pets", anyway? Maybe spellthief entry into MoSM (if it is even allowed)? If there were some way he could in turn enslave a wizard as his cohort, and act as its familiar, that would be pretty funny... Maybe a homebrew feat called "Wag the Dog", or something like that? :P

Edit: He could just charm/dominate/bluff the wizard, and steal his spells for himself...

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Quick confirmation, monster blood/hybrid would allow for one to take a second monster class, yes? Cause I'm fairly committed to Awakened Iron Golem 4 / Force Golem 4, with backstory to explain, if that's what the feats do.

Otherwise, I might have to just be a dragon with a humanoid disguise form. :smirk

Hmm, guess that might drop my backup idea of awakened iron golem. :P

I personally like the idea of being a group of mini-bosses. It would be cool to be our own independant group... Something like the Akatsuki from Naruto? Abunch of big evil bad asses drawn togather for a common purpose of world domination? What can be better then that  :D

Just going off the Akatsuki base, perhaps Oslecamo could just NPC our head leader guy?  If anyone feels like throwing down some ideas togather and possibly creating a duo or something lemme know. By that I mean a two man cell like the Akatsuki group.

Idk.. those are just some of my personal thoughts. Im going to decide on my character creation tonight. I will post again when I decide  :D I will say Im leaning towards some sort of demon/devil.

I like the idea of us being the underlings for the BBEG and our being his minions/minibosses. At least, closer to mini-boss status as time goes on, even progressing to the main villains further down the line.

If we're going to be competent badguys, then we really need to make sure we've got the basses covered. I'm definitely looking at a sturdy melee, do we have any sneakys, spell-focused, or ranged monsters of particular interest?

I figured that if I do indeed go with Son/Daughter of Silence, my natural quietness lends itself toward stealth, but the end of the monster class also lends itself well toward qualifying for caster prestige classes. Only problem is I wouldn't have many actual spells to cast. :/

Here is what I'm looking at for the moment. I could be the sneak, and probably will have a wizard-y cohort for some arcane support/buffs, and also after we gain a level will have random weird monsters following me around... (which I will use to steal SLAs from :P ).

Imp 2/Spellthief 5/MoSM 1
BAB +5
Saves: ?

Feats: ?, Craft Wonderous Item (3rd, uses Imp SLAs to qualify for CL), Leadership

Later: Mindsight, Staggering Strike

Special abilities:
Tiny size w/5' reach (tail only)
Fake Form  8/day (large monstrous spider, dire boar, or raven/rat/boar)
Sting + Poison (1d6 Dex)
NA = Con mod
See in darkness
Fire resist 8
Cold, acid resist 4
DR 4/good
SR 19
Telepathy (110')
Detect Magic, Good 8/hr
Invis 4/day
Tongues/Suggestion 8/day
Fly 50 (perfect)

SA +2d6, Steal Spells (2nd level), Steal SLAs (1st level), Steal Energy Resist (10)
Alright, so a bruiser, a spellcasterthief, and a sneak with spell potential (dude, just find a way to no-problem use silent spell, you're golden. Incantatrix, maybe?).

I know what character type I want, just have to make my choice. Working with this group is a child, adorable and seemingly harmless, and who is composed in character. He happens to be a dragon bent on destruction and death, but you can't really take his adorable form seriously.

I was thinking about pyroclastic dragon with the Deceivingly Innocent Form[Monstruous] feat. The flavor pre-req of consuming flesh of disguise, meaning a small child, should be easy considering he's a pyroclastic dragon. Alternatively, I also like the Silver dragon for it's speed, spellcasting, paralyzing breath, and deceptive lean. It means he can really get the most out of being sadistically manipulative and evil, while pyroclastic more lends itself to the psychotic destruction variety of killing.

Still, researching other dragons, just in case one jumps out at me. I know the red dragon is the classic, but realistically I could play something incredibly similar to that any time.

Not that I don't love the Iron Golem / Force Golem "Ironman" thing that could be going on, but an evil child? how do I pass that up?

The original concept of my character, as conceived of months ago, was as a paragon of the "creepy child" trope, but if we've got that already then I can easily imagine more of a vindictive bitch with a silent, icy glare. Also, she can entomb you in the friggin' ground if you piss her off. :P
(Ok, so you get shunted up to the surface after, but it still hurts like hell)

As for silent spell, I'd get to ignore vernal components anyway. That part alone kinda makes me want some kind of spellcasting, but I'm not sure it mixes well with the other abilities so much. It's research time. :)

Now that we're pairing up, I was thinking of playing a Night Hag (can I request a monster class for that, Oslecamo?) who absolutely hates loud noises. Works well with a Son/Daughter of Silence. No idea how to develop one beyond all monster levels though. Levels of sorcerer sounds extremely dull plus it isn't homebrew.

Yes, monster blood/hybrid were specifically created to allow multiclassing between monster classes.

You can request it yes, but I'll need some time to get it up. None of the other hags interest you?

Well if you're willing to spend a couple feats you could go towards one of the monster classes that grant spellcasting. Or take monster blood/hybrid at first level, pick Skaven race and then go to Grey Seer (just added to the index, still hadn't done so).

Here is what I'm looking at for the moment. I could be the sneak, and probably will have a wizard-y cohort for some arcane support/buffs, and also after we gain a level will have random weird monsters following me around... (which I will use to steal SLAs from :P ).

And this is where I have to draw a line. Leadership is already something I allow with care. Fullcastig prc that grants yet another disposable cohort on top of several other goodies was giving me serious doubts. A build specific to steal your monster abilities, no.

If you want, there's already several monster classes that get pets as standard (altough never wizard cohorts I'll give you that), or I may even allow you to pick leadership for a "leader" role, but I won't be allowing that prc that allows another powerful monster as cohort on top of multiple other goodies.

That's what I figured. So I'll be working on that dragon in between bouts of chem review tomorrow.

And having, for the first time in my DnD career, given a good look at dragons, I find that dragons are awesome, and have awesome drgon-specific prestige classes, all of which at the earliest can be entered at level 17.  :banghead

What one you were aiming for? I would be willing to slash down the prerequisites for a player since they can't get inflated HD to qualify for all those massive bab/skill requirements.

I hadn't anything in particular; I was looking through the draconomicon and such looking at any prc that could nail down whether I wanted to go Pyroclastic dragon or Red dragon. Both are wicked (literally and otherwise), but one has more actions per turn late game but a disintegrate breath, and one has spells and better stat growth. If there had been some prc that boosted spellcasting and made the dragon side just as potent, I'd have gone red dragon as the smart move.

But honestly, I think I'm going to buckle down (since I have a lot to do tomorrow, and damned if I'm letting this fall aside for it!), commit to the pyro dragon which caught my attention from the start and hasn't let go of me yet, and thank you for the adjustment offer. You've probably got enough to deal with setting up as is, and the planar dragon is a treat waiting to happen!

Man, I go to work and the thread explodes before I can reply :P

I'd like to throw my name into the hat as interested in playing if there's a slot open/someone backs out.

They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...

Quick question: With your monster classes and such, when an entry says "at each x additional HD", does that include class levels as well, or only levels in that monster class?

Edit: Right now it's looking like some sort of spider-like creature with casting.
