Planar Touchstone feat can snag turning off a domain.
Not Turn Undead, and the other turning abilities are questionable when it comes to powering most stuff.

Sun domain = Greater turning.

You can take the leadership feat, and have your cohort be a cleric  :D

I don't know what a planar touchstone does, but the Sun domain lets you turn a regular turning into a greater turning.  It doesn't give you turning ability.  So it looks like domain droughts are out (as if spending 3000gp for 1 turning is all that cost-effective)

Greater Turning augments your normal uses of Turn Undead, it is not a separate pool.

I see Domain Draguhts as excellent for things like Creation domain where you don't care if you only have the spells/ability for a short time: they have long-lasting effects.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!
