Time for some Pruning?

The Min/Max section is getting absurdly big. Perhaps we should trim a few 15000 threads or so?

It would be a lot less cumbersome if the page selection didn't spill over but instead cut out the middle section or something. That plays hob with the rest of the page.

Perhaps an archiving type thing?

Threads with the last post over a certain number of months ago get dropped off the thread list and locked but are still searchable?

Yeah. Splitting Min/Max into several sub forums would be a nice way to keep the content and not have any one particular page be so huge. The downside is the work effort. Although, if you arbitrarily set some age limit and move posts there (essentially archiving), then you cut down on a lot of the work.

Why are so many posts on the board the equivalent of " Dear Dr. Crotch, I keep punching myself in the crotch, and my groin hurts... what should I do? How can I make my groin stop hurting?"

Yep. That's exactly what I had in mind. And you could also use it for 50 page threads.

You know there is a thread asking what is ok to Necro or not and these two threads really are talking about the same concept.
