Due to the unfortunate loss of Nanshork we will be accepting a player to our pbp game. It has not yet started, everyone is finalizng there characters so now is the perfect time to jump in.

All the house rules and what not is in the thread.
So post here or in the forums I linked  :D

You can improve your chances with a hasty reply  :D  We are all 'chompin-at-the-bit' to start the game haha.

I'm the DM for this particular game, if anyone is interested in joining the game put a post here with a Character idea. Currently we have the following positions on the ship filled.

Explorator: The techpriest in charge of discerning technology and managing the maintenance of the ship itself.
Ork Freebooter: Taking the position of the Arch-Militant as master-at-arms. He's in charge of the Boarding parties and defending the ship from the same. He's also the medic, so don't get injured.
Rogue Trader: The Lord-Captain of The Tiamat, the ship that you'll be travelling on
Void Master: Master of weapons, he's the ships gunner essentially, he manages and maintains the ships weapons systems and is in charge of making hits during ship combat.

Current Open Positions
Missionary: Maintains crew morale and defends the crew's mind and souls against the predations of the warp, important since Warp travel is a necessity for Rogue Trader ships.
Navigator: Sanctioned mutant capable of seeing the tides of the Warp and navigating the Sea of Souls.
Astropath Transcendant; Powerful telepath and diviner, a psyker who can send and recieve message from across hundreds of galaxies.
Seneschal: Is the master of trade and commerce for the ship. Makes all the Acquisition rolls and deals with bartering and haggling. Generally the face of the ship in terms of acquiring resources. Suggested only for advanced players.

I always was interested in trying out Rogue Trader.

I'll make a missionary, here's some initial stats:

WS, BS, S, T, A, Int, Per, Will, Fell (2d10=14, 2d10=11, 2d10=7, 2d10=12, 2d10=5, 2d10=15, 2d10=12, 2d10=13, 2d10=13)

Need to add 25 to each after that if I'm not mistaken.

Quick question, what's exactly the use of the Weapon Training talents? I'm unable to use a gun at all if I'm not trained on it or can I blindly spray with a bolter taking some kind of penalty?

EDIT: Actualy, seems like Nanshork also had a missionary that looks quite cool. Would you mind if I used it for my character to get things started asap?

If it helps any I'm completely fine with you playing my missionary, it is good to know he'll see some use.  I listed all of my exp expenditures so you can easily adjust him.

Yah thats fine, also if you don't have the correct weapon training you take a -20 to ballistics tests to use the weapon untrained. The idea is that any monkey can pull a trigger and pray for a hit, but someone with training will pull the trigger and actually get a hit ^_^. Unless you roll a 100 like some of my friends do in critical situations. Then the Omnissiah smites you for your insolence.

It appears I didn't come soon enough. I've been searching all around for RT games, they're much more rare than DND or even exalted. If you ever need another character I would love to play a seneschal. I enjoy spymaster types, especially when you can get contacts and organizations set up. Enjoy your game!
