This should be used when rolling Acquisition tests, as a rule the only one who can roll Acquisition is someone who has the Commerce skill. Generally that means it will be the Rogue Trader making the roll. So if you want something post it here and it will be rolled on for acquisition, depending on what you want it might have specific requirements before it can be rolled.

Calchexxis since you offered to NPC the rogue trader you should just NPC the Seneschal instead?

Yah, Einherjar asked me to NPC the Seneschal so I will be making all the Acquisition rolls unless someone wants to change thier mind and take over that role. Its not a big deal though, if you have something you want to acquire then just post it and if possible post the acquisition modifier I would apply to your profit factor as demonstrated in the example.

Yay, I got my hammer!  I'm very excited about that hammer.  I can't think of anything else to acquisition, I'll just use the missionary starting Lasgun as my long ranged weapon.

Wait, I need something with range and penetration.

I made a mistake on the flamer, the Nephlam Fuel is a special type of ammunition and not an add-on.  Since I start with a Good Flamer for free no re-rolls should be needed, but it reminds me.  Do you want us to roll for acquisition on ammunition to go with our guns or just for special ammo?

Right so before you made your character it would've been best to wait for me to post the character rules.

Starting XP to spend: 6,500

that puts you halfway into rank 3.

Remember that gear is not purchased in Rogue Trader it is Acquired via a dice roll since a dynasty has an astronomical amount of cash to burn. You guys are starting at 35 profit factor, there is a chart on pg 272 of the Rogue Trader Core Rulebook that shows you how to acquire. Here is an Example.

Jarvis Stelle is a Seneschal who wishes to acquire a Long-Las for his employer. Unwilling to settle for anything less than the finest Jarvis elects to purchase a Best-Quality Long-Las. Since these weapons only have a Scarce availability the modifier for the rarity of the item is +0, no change to the profit factor. Since he is only seeking to purchase one of these weapons the Scale modifier is +30, making the profit factor effectively 65, however he refuses to buy lower quality weapons so the Craftsmanship modifier for a best-quality is -30 bringing the factor back down to 35. Now that he has finally found a seller he commences haggling, rolling his Commerce skill against the sellers scrutiny. Jarvis has a Fellowship of 50 and has trained in the art of Commerce to the point of mastery which applies a +20 bonus. his total effective score is 70, meaning he wants to roll a 1d100 and land somewhere between 1 - 70. This is against the seller who has a Perception total of 65.

Jarvis: 1d100=39
Seller: 1d100=55
39 - 70 = 31; 3 Degrees of success
55 - 65 = 10; 1 Degree of success

Jarvis wins with a net of 2 degrees over his opponent allowing him to increase his profit factor by 4 (2/degree of success) making it a total of 39. Now he needs to roll under 39, good luck Jarvis.



Ya Sorry that is a crap load of stuff to roll for haha. But I figure my character is going to be packing around a ton of stuff so I can take care of my squishy little friends  :D
K so what you want me to figure out the modifier? That will take me some time haha but I can try
My character is going to be pretty old, and I want to have him carrying around a ton of stuff. Hopefully kind of like an ork macguyver  :devil

Perhaps you could just do the rolls for the major stuff. Since alot of the equipment is just basic stuffs I dont think it would be to hard to get my hands on.
