Well if it's not classified as a spell from the healing subschool, it could apply to full affect on a warforged.
It says it must be applied to a living creature, and a warforged is a living construct. That should work.

Healing salve (Tome and Blood) is an alchemical item that heals 1d8 damage and costs 50 gp.
I've always wondered what the advantage of that was over a CLW which gave you a +1 over that as well.

Healing salve has a few things going for it.
  • It works in antimagic fields and dead magic zones.
  • Crafting it costs 16.66 gp and no xp.
  • Crafting it doesn't require a feat or the ability to cast cure light wounds.
  • You can make it very quickly with fabricate.

Q 29(ish):

Is there a way to make a simple version of the Portal Gun in dnd?
That was somewhat misleading on my part. Think of it as self-confidence, self-image, the ego, and other such things, not people skills. Someone with a low Charisma who goes insane is probably suffering crippling self-doubt or has a skewed perception of him/herself (or, given the power of the entities in the Cthulhu mythos, an accurate perception of his or her place in the universe).

Q 30 Cleric is finding it very hard to heal the party, and needs either or both of these. How does a cleric do ranged touch spells normally? How can a cleric gain Mage Hand to put touch spells onto?

A level in heirophant will give touch spells a range of 30'.

the most interesting option is definitely Ocular Spell. Add DMM, rinse and repeat.
not perfectly optimal, but fun. *"I need healing" "I glare at him intensely"

but that may just be my opinion.

DM has banned all DMM and other things that can be considered campaign breaking.

residual metamagic (i think) helps. besides that, ask him for a version of DMM that only works for this one use.

When I say "banned", I mean complete. We use the PF cleric now. There's no turn undead.

Mage hand doesn't do touch spells; you're thinking of spectral hand.

If your party skillmonkey has ranks in UMD, wands of lesser vigor and/or CLW can work wonders at lower levels. A ring of spell storing could be handy, but there's probably other, cheaper items that specifically do healing. Likewise, if your arcane caster hasn't banned necromancy, a spellstoring weapon with vampiric touch can be handy (though that's temp HP, not actual healing).

You may wanna take a look at the healing handbook for more ideas, though it sounds like you have some heavy houseruling involved.

It's spectral hand? Okay. It was another player who had told him that he needed mage hand, so I said I'd ask.
No skill monkey in this party, but the warlock does have a few ranks in UMD. The cleric took a flaw that makes it almost impossible to use wands, but he can still use staffs. No arcane caster in the group unless you count the warlock.

I'll take a look at the handbook. Hopefully I can still use something from it.

1st: holy crap
2nd: residual metamagic plus ocular spell then probably the feat that reduces metamagic cost for a certain feat by 1, still my favorite option.

Not sure which is more valuable to your friend, a CL or a feat. Feats are technically far rarer than CL boosters, so...

But as I said, heirophant is still up for grabs.

Once we sell the treasure, he'll be able to afford a metamagic rod of reach for 6000. He can also get a wand of Close Wounds (SPC), although I don't know how effective that's going to be at only 1d4+5 as an immediate action.
