Level 3 Sorcerer spell!

Sorry thought it was about lvl2 spells. Why is blindness/deafness such a poor choice? (never tested it so I don't have any experience with it)

Glitterdust is the same level and does a lot more. The only thing Blindness/Deafness has over it is that it targets Fort instead of Will (situational) and lets you deafen in addition to blind.

The pros of Glitterdust is you can use it to see invisible creatures as well, and it has a 10-foot radius instead of targeting one creature. It also doesn't allow Spell Resistance. Both have medium range (100 ft + 10/CL).

Also, Glitterdust will blind almost anything and Blindness/Deafness won't. Because of the Fort save, B/D won't affect undead creatures and constructs. Glitterdust totally will, unless your DM decides to make something up on the fly about how skeletons see or something.

Races of the Dragon has Sense of the dragon. IT gives what is basically blindsense out to 30 ft. 1 minute/level

Draconomicon has Dragonskin. Gives 3+ 1/2 levels above 5th Nat AC, double CL resistance against one of the 4 energy types, Sorcerers cast at +1 CL, 10 min/level, self only

Spell compendium has Dragonskin.  Gives +1/2 levels Nat AC, resistance 10 against one of the 4 energy types, 20 if CL 10 or above, Sorcerers cast at CL +1, 10 min/level, self only

It has the ASF of Mithral fullplate. However, Using Battle Sorcerer (UA) and the Battlecaster feat (CA), or some other anti-ASF method, it becomes quite nice.

Well, with Spellsword and the appropriate feat (Battlecaster's the one, right?) you could ignore that ASF.  But Greater Mage Armor seems like a better choice in general, and it really loses out to Greater Luminous Armor.

I'm wondering why SpC nerfed Dragonskin.  It wasn't exactly amazing to begin with.  Though Dragonskin + Greater Luminous Armor might be fun for gishes.

battlecaster doesn't work with class features which only let you ignore some asfc.

Hmm.  And that ACF is so high it would require rather insane levels of Spellsword (i.e. far too many lost caster levels).  But I really hate Battle Sorcerer (so many lost spells!).  Yeah, I'm not really seeing a good way to use that spell effectively, not when Greater Mage Armor gives most of the benefit (and applies to Incorporeal attacks) without having to go through all that.  It's a shame Sorcs can't actually use Greater Luminous Armor, of course.

My psionic powers revision actually includes a power that allows you to fire globs of ectoplasm at friends and foes alike, and depending on how you augment it you can screw over a foe via ACP, ASF, and loss of certain class features for little benefit, or give an ally a really nice AC bonus for not much cost.
