Well, we have three gestalt characters and the DM doesn't want the group to be overpowered.
He's been away for a while, but should be coming back sometime soon.
He's the only one who can tell you for certain.

No. But I just started work today and am living in a motel at the moment pending a rental becoming available. Then, I am off on a three day company trip in the third week of Feb. Things are a mite busy right now, unfortunately... :(

That said, yes, any number of people can join. I just want to keep the power level between the players to be about the same, at least on paper.
