So, I finally got my first job. I want to take advantage of the fact my expenses are currently fairly low (and will likely remain so for at least about a year) to make more money off my excess money.
Regular trust funds take too long to work the way I need them to, even if I happened to see an income increase. My basic idea is to put a modest amount of money into something that will get me some return monthly. Then, when it gets to a certain point, I would invest part of the profit into something else. That something else, in turn, will generate profit which will eventually accumulate, until I have a certain amount that I can reinvest.
So essentually, the idea is to find and use multiple sources of profit. I realize it's a lengthy process, and even on a best case scenario might take on the upwards of ten years or more to generate more profit than I might actually need, or even get to the point where I obtain significant disposable income from it. But I consider it much more important to have time than money on my hands, and since acquiring that requires me to have either insane luck or highly valuable marketable skills, and I lack both, that's the process I'm trying to think of using somehow. (Short of someone deciding they want to hire an amateur singer for lots and lots of money, I don't have much in terms of carreer choices, so.)
