Perhaps more-than-simple question about CR.
« on: July 26, 2011, 01:55:11 AM »
Would the "take 82"(which my group uses for PC generation) ability array (18, 16, 14, 14, 10, 10 as example) add a +1 to the creature's CR?

My first thought is: Yes.

I know that the CR system itself is a bit sketchy, but I would still appreciate opinions/thoughts on this.  :)

Eh, not really. The elite array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) isn't specifically called out to increase CR, and that's used in games with more "normal" point buys for "monsters" with PC class levels. With your system, (18, 16, 14, 14, 10, 10) is probably comparable to the elite array.

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Aye I was not sure. I use our "Take 82" rule only for "bosses." Mini-bosses and such use the elite array, while the typical NPC uses the standard.

Thank you for the reply.
