I am currently trying to come up with a character for a DnD game I intend to apply to. The basic concept of the game is to travel from Acheron all the way down to Asmodeus's fortress, Malsheem in the depths of hell. Once the character has made it there, he will have to compete in a tournement against unknown foes, obstacles, and or other players. (PVP)
So some basic criteria required of any character preposed:
1. Must be able to travel through the planes. (Physically or Magically)
2. Must have a method or methods or surviving the various planar enviromental traits.
3. Must be able to effectively deal with potential foes he may come across along the way. (By avoiding them, killing them, diplomacying them.)
Character Creation Rules are as follows:
ECL: 22
*Traits and Flaws: 2 each max.
*Accepted Books: BoVD, BoED, Completes, Core, Forgotten Realms series, Epic Level Handbook, Fiend Folio, Sandstorm, Compendiums, Tome of Magic, Tome of Battle, Stormwrack, Sandstorm, Frostburn, Races of Books.
No Psionics!
*Gold is Standard: No more than 1/3 spend on any one item.
My ideas so far involve around making stealthy character that can bypass most of the little trash of hell and if push comes to shove can deal with the big boys when need be.
So far I've been thinking of various methods for avoiding detections/ scouting.
Darkstalkers, Mindsight, Lifesense, Item Familiar for bonus ranks in Spot/Listen/anything else I might need.
I have also been toying with the idea of making use of the Dreamteller, Oneiromancy, Improved Oneiromancy feats as well as the Lucid Dreamer skill from the Manual of the Planes.
Any suggestions, thoughts, or comments would be welcomed.
