The door groans a moment but it is firmly rusted shut, it will require some effort to open.

DC 25 Str Check to pull the door open.

Kana moves away from the door, back to the group, and says, "Well, it seems I don't have the biceps required to open this rust-infested door. I might suggest leaving it be, but I think we've invested too much to just forget it."

"Can't you just blow the hinges off, Kana? Don't worry about the noise... there won't be any."

Dirk makes sure he is at a safe distance from the door... both for fear of traps and Kana's explosives...
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

"If I want to blow just the hinges, I'd have to use one of my smaller, more precise devices. They work by emitting high-frequency sound waves, though, and won't work in the area of your spell. To blow it up, now, I'll have to use a larger explosive that isn't sound-based, and that's going to be noticeable for more than just the sound it would have made." She seems to be weighing her options for a moment, before continuing, "But someone's going to need to bring down our mighty foe, a Door, and it might as well be the Lady of the group."

Kana moves over toward the door and plants a small cluster of green explosive packages on the door. She backs up to where the group is, then ducks behind Greed and hits the trigger.
Planting Acid explosives on the door, since from what I can tell from the SRD, hardness shouldn't apply to acid damage and acid does normal instead of reduced damage. What's the door made of, by the way? That might determine how many explosives I'd have to use to burst through it. >_>
The door is wood with metal hinges. And yes acid and sonic do full damage to objects (rather than half) but are still affected by hardness as far as I can see. I know there are several sonic spells that specifically say that they ignore hardness as well.

Anyway wooden door: hardness 5, 15 hp.

The acidic charges burst, giving off very little light compared to Kana's more combustible explosives. Dirk's Silence spell takes care of the sound of the explosion.
Two charges should do it:

3d6(3,6,3)+5=17
3d6(3,3,2)+5=13

-5 on each for hardness makes for a total of 20 damage on the door.
The door collapses inwards, melting slightly as it falls.

The room beyond seems to be some sort of armory, rusted spears and swords line the walls and some suits of rotting leather armor are on stands near the door. In the centre of the room there is a polished metal box, about 10' by 10' with a blue dragons head symbol on each facing.

Kana approaches the room and searches the area just within the doorway for traps. If it is not trapped, she will move inside and attempt to check the area around the box for traps, then the box itself. Her paranoia is obviously mounting.
Search 1: 1d20(19)+12=31
Search 2: 1d20(5)+12=17
Search 3: 1d20(8)+12=20

Man... not very good. Do 1st level rogues ever actually find any traps? I can't imagine they'd have the mods to actually ever succeed.
Kergis moves into the room, just in front and to the left of the door.  He looks around warily, not trusting Kana's ability to actually find anything.

Dirk casts another spell, and scans the room for magical emanations.
Recast Detect Magic. Also, take 10 on any knowledges that might help. His scores would be:
27 Knowledge (Arcana, Religion, Planes, Local)
23 Knowledge (Dungeoneering, Nature)

And Lore/Bardic Knowledge on the box and its symbols is: 1d20+6=25
Condition Summary
Hit Points: 27/35
Effects: Sign (40 mins -1 rnd, +4 on next initiative roll), Lore of the Gods (40 mins -1 rnd, +10 to knowledge checks), Detect Magic (4 mins/concentration), Eyes of the Avoral on Kana (40 mins -1 rnd, +8 racial Spot bonus
The dragons heads (moderate abjuration) on the box are magical and one of the longswords (moderate evocation) in the racks also seems to be.
Ill assume you just pass the spellcraft checks for identifying.

After studying for a few seconds, Dirk says "Be careful there, Kana. That box has a pretty potent protective dweomer on it. That longsword over there also has a magical aura." Dirk gestures at the sword.

"Potent, hmm?" Kana carefully considers the box, then says, "You know what? We're going to get shot at enough today, and I don't need to add 'getting zapped by a box' to the list. I suggest we simply leave it alone. I don't need a magic box anyway."

"Well, I think it might be worthwhile trying to open it to see what's inside, but we need to be careful. I could try to fiddle with it from a distance to discharge the spell... Or we could come back tomorrow, and I could summon something to open it for us."

Nana ponders another moment, then says, "Hmm... I wonder if using one of mymy shatter bugs would set off the trap, or if perhaps it might open the box without need to set off the trap? Think it's worth a try?"

"Sure. Let's get that enchanted sword out of there first, though. We don't want it to be incinerated..."

Dirk, fearing another trap around the sword, steps back into the hallway and waits for Kana to clear the area before levitating the sword out of the room and into the hallway.
Nothing useful on the Knowledge and Lore checks for the box's "artwork"?

From the hallway Dirk uses his Mage Hand SLA to grab the longsword, and then lays it carefully on the ground in the hallway without touching it. Then he moves to one side of the door, hopefully out of the "blast radius" of any traps on the magic box. He continues to concentrate on Mage Hand, as it might still be useful.
The sword comes easily enough, unlike most all the other weapons in the room it is still in pristine condition.
The blade seems to be plated in silver and golden runes run along the blade towards a golden filigree basket hilt.

Kana motions for the group to follow suit with Dirk, staying near the doorway and taking careful aim for any area that might denote a lock, latch, or  other opening-device for the box. She then flicks her Shatter Bug as close to that area as possible. If nothing happens when the bug simply lands on the box, she moves to hide behind the wall of the room before hitting the trigger.
Figure this ought to take a ranged attack roll of some sort to account for accuracy.
Should be fairly simple since it's not moving and I'm taking time to aim and such, but you never know what can happen. :)

attack: 1d20(15)+6=21

In case something goes off unexpectedly, I'm going to just roll Reflex pre-emptively... 1d20(14)+8=22

Shouldn't she be able to throw it, and then move to take full cover behind the wall?  :P That's a move + standard action, and it takes some time for the "bomb" to cross the distance after the throw... and then to detonate, presumably.
