Post stats for both in here.

Half minotaur makes me think of it's creation, and it is not a pleasant thought.

Rope dart on a minotaur-esque creature sounds silly.

But heck, we'll see :)

Weeeeh, I'm a humongous cow, let me throw darts attached to ropes at you!!!!

It's probably something else, but that is what a rope dart evokes to me.

Do you want to be that man

Do you!!!

(I'm bored at work.... so i say silly stuff.... just post the description and stats for both :))

I guess I'm gonna be the "Face" after all, lol...
... or maybe ...
or maybe I'm being stupid...for playing a human when so much is available... Hmm.

But how am I supposed to be an effective melee character if I'm medium sized and have a strength no higher than 18? :P

for those interested, I was out LARPing.

Nifty.  Which system?  (I just went through my LARP props while cleaning a week ago.  Anyone need a complete tavern setup? :)

Half-Minotaur is on page 11:
http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Templates.pdf

I'm still trying to find the Rope Dart, if anyone else knows, that would be great :)

I was thinking about reflavoring it as a meteor hammer of sorts, but I'll get back to you on that one :D

I'm Human as a base creature. The claws might scare people though.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

Also, Skydragonknight, why not make them retractable claws? ;)

It's not in the rules, so it's purely DM fiat. But if Alastar's okay with that, then hellz yeah.

And welcome to the Child Board people.

Okay, so: how should we go about setting up our characters?

(I'm torn: Straight WSR5/MoMF 5, or WSR 5/MoMF4/Fist of the Forest 1?)  The extra AC would be nice; the two feats and delaying Extraordinary Wildshape by a level would be not-so-nice.

Personally, I wince a little whenever I see "Lion Totem Wolf Totem Whirling Frenzy," but that's just me.

Ok wait, let's do a quick roll call again (copy'n'paste'n'edit from my other post) (I can edit this post as need be)
  • Caelic - ranger/MoMF, reasonable nature skills, tracking
  • Surreal - ranger/occult slayer OR cha monkey/Witch Slayer, party leader? tracking, urban tracking, gather info, flanks with ranged weapons
  • Bowensilverclaw - lubricated pokemon, stealth, trapfinder
  • SDK - wolverine, tank, natural attacker
  • Midnight - fear based crusader/dread pirate... or Warblade/Thayan Gladiator? diplomacy/bluff
  • Nodaisho - thri-kreen ToB

It looks like we have a lot of muscle. Do we have any trapfinding capabilities? And what about things like diplomacy/bluff/sense motive/etc?

As a more general note that I'd mentioned before, we should really be thinking about party dynamics and how we can help each other out. How can we complement each other in combat?

Combat is generally not a focal point in PbP (in my experience), so we should also be thinking about the social crunch and party interactions in that regard as well.

I'm still also undecided on what I should add to the party. My original ranger 4/bloodhound 1/occult slayer 5 fits with the campaign and makes me party leader, and gives me nice mental immunities. I also have good tracking skills, gather info, can cause flanking with my arrows (and have reasonable bonuses on my damage, though nothing fantastic). I will probably dump Cha in this build though.

On the other hand I could do a Cha monkey build with Paladin/XYZ/Witch Slayer5, which brings fewer skills to the table and is a more self centered build, but it gives me that awesome off-switch that can turn off casters (the Witch Slayer's capstone ability). The downside is that the off-switch doesn't really improve beyond ecl10, so while it'll be great at the beginning of the game, it loses its lustre later on.

If people want me to, I could change to a trapfinder. JanusJones had some great ideas about that.

Just let me know what you guys think will fit best in the party, a lockdown or a trapfinder :)

Hexblade would fit in nicely with that last build :D
Other than that, I don't have that many ideas for either of those builds, sorry *shrug*

One of you Barbarians should take the trapkiller deal from dungeonscape. No reason for anyone to change their whole build.

As far as *finding* traps--I have hit points and fast healing, and a good fort save. just someone bring some rope since I don't have ranks in climb.
