what are the "ooze traits"
« on: July 05, 2011, 09:54:13 PM »
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/ooze.htm

Gelatenous cube lists "Special Qualities:   Blindsight 60 ft., immunity to electricity, ooze traits, transparent"
What exactly are those "ooze traits" and where do I find them?
Also, am I mistaken or are gelatenous cubes harmed normally by slashing and piercing weapons?

I just told someone he can't shoot one to death with a gun since its 15,000 lbs of magically animated jello but it seems I was wrong.

Remember you can shoot, amongst other things, magically animated air and fire to death. You just poke enough holes in its surface tension and there it goes.
In D&D almost anything can eventualy be shot to death.

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~"

Also, most oozes should melt themselves via acid damage, since they're not immune to their own acidic coatings.

Maybe it's already happened.  Maybe the ooze is the remnant of something else that already dissolved, and the poor bastard is still alive.
