Q197:

How can one bring a construct back from the dead?
Unless it's a Living Construct, you can't.
With spells that bring back both undead and outsiders it somewhat disappoints me that there is no re-animate construct spell.

Followup question:  Is there an easy of making a normal construct a living construct?
A template in Magic of Incarnum does just that.

There is also a template in Lords of Madness that you apply to the stat block of a living creature, and end up with a living construct based on the base creature.
What template is this?  I wasn't aware the Living Construct subtype appeared anywhere in that book.

Q198: Other than the Dragonborn (Wings) template, what ways are there for ANY race to get a Dive attack?
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Well technically a Construct is a magic item... and destroyed magic item can be repaired and start working again... so someone might infer that repairing it might work.

His old DM was on crack. He could take levels in freaking Dread Necromancer if he wanted to and no rule in the universe would keep him from doing so.
Rule 0?
Which, I guess, would be 'no rule,' since none = 0.
What's funny is he always brings up Rule 0. I actually had to ask him what that was, and without blinking an eye he gave me the most detailed explanation I'd ever heard for a rule. It was like he was in a trance when he spoke. Looking it up, it just said "The unspoken DM gets final say/veto anything he wants rule."
You're such a kind man, for taking in abused unfortunates and rehabilitating them.

Oh snap, what about a construct made of aurorum?  Would that do what I think it would do?

No.  Technically a construct is a creature, not an item.  It's only extrapolating from the fluff to find something that isn't there which makes you think it's an item, magic or otherwise.

I'm absolutely sure that I've seen rules on repairing "destroyed" constructs, and having them to start working again above 0... I just can't remember if they were homebrew or not... or where I saw them... Where's that "old codger" smiley at again?...

What's an easy way to change your type to Aberration? I'm of course asking if you already made your character and is past lvl 1, so no creating character with templates slapped on. I mean feats/classes/etc... The easier the better.

Outsider. Not specifically an Abomination, as aren't those the quasi-deities from the Epic book?

Becoming an aberration is really hard, even with templates.  The arachnid creature template from Underdark is about the only thing that does it.

The only thing that I can think of is fleshwarper (Lords of Madness), but that's not easy.

But Arachnoid Creature is restricted to Animals, Beasts and Magical Beasts IIRC... So it's mostly a No-Go. IF only it could be applied to Humanoids/Monstrous Humanoids... Then Incarnate Construct Warforged Feral Arachnoid would be SICK, but it's pretty hard to make Magical Beast PC characters, the only i can remember are the Beguiler from Shining South, and Awakened Animals. Insectoid Creature from Savage Species is LA +2 and gives Aberration template, it's also less restricted. But templates are DM-Approved, and it's pretty hard to buy out that +2 LA... Losing 2 class levels hurt. I perused most of the Lords of Madness/Elder Evils books, since i recalled a feat that gave the Aberration template, but no luck. Maybe the feat i'm recalling is from some dragon/dungeon magazine? I'm pretty sure there's a feat somewhere that has the Aberration Blood feat as pre-requisite, but actually makes you an aberration.

Another question: Is the Effigy template a legal target for Incarnate Construct? If so, can i use to make a PC? :O (Google search results give mixed opinions)

There's also spell-warped from MM3.

Wish I could remember why I had been looking all this up several months back...

If the effigy is humanoid-shaped (read: based off a Humanoid, Monstrous Humanoid, or Giant) then I don't see why not.  They'd have an ECL of --, though, so playing one is subject to DM fiat.

Q195: If you cast Summon Monster 1, at level 1, as a standard action instead of a full round, do you get 2 attacks out of it, or still just the one?

A195: It still only lasts one round, so it disappears just before the start of your next turn.

That's what I figured, just confirming.

In my humble opinion, CO is haberdashery. Some say we're mad, but we can all agree we're hatters. Yes, we have potential to make very sophisticated hats, very fancy hats, be they dark or light. But the truth is that the color of the hat does not come from the group of us - our community doesn't directly produce hats. We simply give average head circumferences, list current fashion trends, and point out some shiny, obscure baubles to add to the latest hat line.

Aberrate.
BoVD spell.
Level 1, 10 min/level. The subjects type changes to aberration and gets +1 Nat Armor per 4 CL.

Yes, the Soulfused Construct.  Can only be applied to INT -- constructs, gives them +2 DEX, +4 CHA, the [Living Construct] subtype and a small pool of essentia.

According to Rules Compendium, any creature that can fly can deal double damage on a diving charge, but only on claw attacks.

I really need to find a copy of that book.

Only on Claw attacks?  Seriously?  That's odd, since all places where Dive attacks are specifically mentioned as an ability say piercing weapons.
