finishing a really evil vile necromancer build.. help.
« on: June 26, 2011, 12:05:02 AM »
so far, i have a human necromancer 5, walker in the waste 10.

i have no idea what to do for the last 5 levels, but it is imperative that i do not lose a cl, being that i lost 2 already with walker, but i NEEDED to have the dry lich.  its that amazing. i was thinking to just do necro 6-10 , but thats so vanilla.  i want something really ugly and cruel, if its out there.

as far as feats. i am using arcane disciple: sand domain, and southern magician to make the prereq's for walker... in addition i have quicken, empower (?), mortalbane, arcane thesis: enervation, wild cohort, and leadership.  i am allowed 2 flaws.

he will not be doing much in the way of undead control/creation, i just wanted the necro for the debuffs and the "evilness"

this guy gets off on bringing harm to people, torture, inflicting diseases on masses of commoners, and biting the heads off of halflings.  any ideas to finish this off would be appreciated.

EDIT:  mortalbane is out, i thought it worked on SU also, but its only SP.

Necrotic Cyst seems like a good idea, then. Also, be sure to check out Exemplars of Evil and Elder Evils for some nice stuff.
Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.

yes, thanks on the mother cyst.   thats exactly what i was looking for.

worshipping an elder evil for the free vile feats might work out too... none look any good.  but they are free so who cares.

Have him embrace/shun the dark chaos those feats into things he cares about.

Also, from some Dragon, is the aligned casting alternate class features, where you trade your familiar to align all your spells with a component of your alignment.  Align his spells to evil and stack on Spell Focus: Evil, Greater Spell Focus: Evil, Malign Spell Focus, Fiendish Heritage & Fiendish Power, and every other feat you can find to raise the DC of his evil spells.  Then win at life.

If you're going to be that focused on enervation I'd recommend split ray, I'd even take that before empower spell.

tainted scholar  (heroes of horror)

Beat me to it. Damn.

Yes, Tainted Scholar is not merely horrific in flavor, it is horrific in power (the good sort of horrific). As a bonus, since you are giving up your Constitution score you can't be killed by excessive taint!

Use BoVD.

A sacrifice a day means limted wish for free 1/day. You also gain Dark Craft gold or XP (or both, I don't remember). For Dark craft, you can also collect (and then ritually destroy) souls.

Build a liquid pain extractor plant via lots of enslaved people (something like the human power plant in The Matrix, only... more cruel).

And yes, Taint is the route to absolutely and completely breaking the game. For every spell you cast, your taint increases, your spells become harder to resist, and you get bonus spells (assuming you are immune to the negative effects of taint).

Plus, you may want to think of one level of ghost. Your DM will be out to kill you. A lot. Awesome when you can make the DC15 level check to never die, ever. Not to mention contingent revive undead.

great suggestions, all.  thank you.  tainted scholar is amazing.   it is perfect for this build.  with all of his undead taint his depravity will be thru the roof and make his save nearly unbeatable.

and i found dragon 357.  thats a very good issue, lots of goodies contained therein!

Just realized you can't do the tainted metamagic if you don't have a con score.  It looks like that's the only thing, but you might want to double check yourself.

yeah i read through it and saw that. honestly thats the only negative.  being undead you can super easily rack up such a huge taint level, its totally worth it.

Would Tomb-Tainted Soul make you immune to the negative energy?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Walker in the Waste requires you to be a divine caster.

Entry Requirements
Alignment: Any nongood.
Feat: Heat Endurance.
Spells: Ability to cast at least three spells of the Sand or Thirst domain as divine spells.
