Q 206 Got a player wanting to be a soulknife, and for aesthetics only, wants to have a masterwork bastard sword finished hilt made for his character. That way he can make his mind blade look like a light saber. How much would making something like that cost?

A206: 100gp at most, since it wouldn't provide any special abilities. If the player wants special abilities with it, base it on the Mind Blade Gauntlet in the MiC.

Depends on the quality and materials... average of 5-10 gold covers anything less than uber exotic metals.

Thanks to the both of you. :)

Give him a nice gift and make it Deep Crystal that works with his Mind Blade, and then let him use the Mind's Eye variants here (and let him take Hidden Talent with the bonus feats) so he's actually decent at something without needing Soulbow that badly.

Q207:
Can I scribe a spell into my spell book, from my daily spell allotment?

For example, if I prepared it from a Tome of Ancient Lore, could I then scribe it into my book?

yes, see the adding spells section in chapter 10 of the phb.

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.

Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH!
Behind door number 2: A magic crown!
Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY!
They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time.  I give you much fu.
Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die,
One for the Wizard on his dark throne
In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

Q 204 Given this restricted book list, is there any way to cast Polymorph as a divine spell, or get it as a persistent spell in any way (pre-epic)?

Available books:
*PHB
*DMG
*Complete Warrior
*Complete Divine
*Complete Arcane
*Complete Adventurer
*Complete Mage
*Complete Champion
*Magic Item Compendum
*PHB 2
*Spell Compendium
*MM1
*Races of Stone
*Races of the Wild
*Races of Dragon
*Races of Destinty
*Book of Exalted Deeds
*Unearthed Arcana
Pay someone to cast Polymorph Any Object on you.

Q: [3.5] My character was raised by Wolves. What kind of classes would best suit him? I can only think of Barbarian, Bear Warrior, and Animal Lord. Anything else?

Druid, Wild Monk, Wildshape Ranger, Fist of the Forest.
Monks are pretty much the best designed class ever.

Did that already. I couldn't see him taking the original stuff, even with the Pathfinder update I allowed (full BAB). I'm also letting him take the feats from the Dragon magazine that are specifically for soulknives, and he can take the Psychic Strikes as actual feats for other feats which require it.

Depends on which monk. If it's Trailblazer, then monk all the way.

Replacing and Copying Spellbooks

A wizard can use the procedure for learning a spell to reconstruct a lost spellbook. If she already has a particular spell prepared, she can write it directly into a new book at a cost of 100 gp per page (as noted in Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook, above). The process wipes the prepared spell from her mind, just as casting it would. If she does not have the spell prepared, she can prepare it from a borrowed spellbook and then write it into a new book.

Duplicating an existing spellbook uses the same procedure as replacing it, but the task is much easier. The time requirement and cost per page are halved.

Q 209: Thinking of re-statting a Redcap's feats to make it proficient with the Longaxe from Comp Adv.  Neat idea, or silly?

Q210:
Does this work if the spell isn't from a spell book and isn't in mine? Just, I called it forth? (Part of a prestige class! :P)

It's a 3rd party class. Arcane Avatar. I'll post the ability:
Call Spell:
With great understand comes tremendous power. With his extensive knowledge of the fabric of magic and his intuitive understanding of its ways, the avatar can duplicate the effects of any known spell. When preparing his spells for the day, the avatar may sacrifice two spell slots of any given level to prepare any spell of the same level from his spell lists. For example an avatar who did not have lightning bolt in his books could choose to prepare that spell by using two of his 3rd-level spell slots for it.
Worst case scenario is you scribe the spell onto a scroll (Scribe Scroll only requires that you have the spell prepared) and then scribe the scroll into your spellbook.

Q211:

If I obtain natural weapons (claws) due to a class ability, does any increased unarmed damage, like from a Monk's class, increase the damage of my claws?

No, but you can take Improved Natural Attack (from the monster manual)
