Bloodied, Exalted has a few(not at half health, but the principle applies), and of course it's quite prevalent as Mode 2 in video games.
The mind transcends the body.
It's also a little cold because of that.

There's a lot more movement in 4E. Teleports and shifting is much more emphasized. Also *yawn* rituals.

Assuming every Class to fit on the same underlying Mechanic
... is new relative to the C.O. board type.

Boons as a freely customized magic item, with a built in correcting mechanism.


That Icy patch over there, just got "harder" because you gained a level ... /slash/ ... butterfly theory.

I wouldn't really count movement as something new to D&D with 4.0. Nor would I count teleports or 5 ft. steps (no matter if it gets renamed to shifting).

Rituals were taken directly from UA.

Heh, movement, other systems tend to have movement for free, so 3.5 was actually more the exception than the rule for trading movement into combat power. Teleporting, see Abrupt Jaunt.

I don't know enough about O-ith edition ...

but 1e to 3.99e have 4th level spells, but then more.
Capping the game at 4th level spells, is new.
