bard9/exaltedarcanist1/sublime chord2/sacredexorcist4/exaltedarcanist4

I like the skill base of the bard and I can take advantage on of some of the various vow feats to boost the DCs of some of my spells and abilities.

Cleric can cast Summon Holy Symbol (level 0 from Comp Champ) and get around that problem / restriction.
And Druids use Holly and Mistletoe, I believe, which is free.
Oddly enough, the feat doesn't say anything about monetary value having anything to do with what you can own.  The funny thing about that is you can have as many heavy crossbows as you can lift...

Does anyone else remember a source saying you can use a tattoo or brand as a holy symbol?  Or is that just an interesting house rule?

How does VoP interact with Infested With Chickens?

Half-minotaur sparrow hengeyokai hulking hurler. Become a sparrow who pulls chickens out of... somewhere and throws them.
I believe the Chicken-Infested Bloodstorm Blade/Drunken Master/Kensai was a VoP build and got chickens out of a spell component pouch (since retrieving spell components is a free action).

I normally tattoo holy symbols on my body when I play a divine caster.
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Worship the right god and your fist will be a holy symbol.

Sharn.  Because only idiots bother with components for their spells.

Some Cool Quotes:  [spoiler]
Quote from: unknown
Non-PC activities like out of combat healing should be left to wands and NPCs. It's not fun to play a walking wand of CLW. Likewise, being a combat wall is not a viable PC role. A Wall of Force could do that.

-Sort of, but you left out the important note that a Wall of Force does it better.

The most powerful character is the one that you actually get to play.

Quote from: Operation Shoestring
I often have to remind people not to underrate divination.  The ability to effectively metagame without actually metagaming beats the ability to set things on fire more times than not.

I like the skill base of the bard and I can take advantage on of some of the various vow feats to boost the DCs of some of my spells and abilities.

I like the very similar:  Bard 7/ Cleric 1/Dweomerkeeper (DK) 2/Sublime Chord 2/ DK 8

If you can swing Alernative Sourced Spell and divine metamagic.  It will also allow a few material component spells with supernatural spell.

Digging further into dragon: Bard 4/Cleric 1/Eldirch Master 4/DK1/ Sublime chord 1/ DK 9

Same idea, but you get to add all the cleric spells to your list of spells to choose from.  Miracle is very useful.

Phareum also cast spells like sharn and can be played at an ECL of 3, but sharns are better in the long run.

Having a spellbook technically violates VoP.

I would go either.....

Kobold Sorcerer (Battle Sorcerer Variant), (Take advantage of this), with Dragon heart mage and Abj Champ.

OR!....

Feral Half Ogre, Dungeoncrasher Fighter/Barbarian with Warhulk.  I did this one before it was amusing, specially when you can throw rocks around (Take the PRC out of either Races of Stone or Complete warrior to allow you to throw rocks around with greater proficiency)

I'd be interested in a Sorcerer SCM.  They could still arguably pull the Shadow Miracle trick (though that's debatable regardless), an Acorn of Far Travel is just an enchanted acorn, and therefore wouldn't count as a possession, thus allowing use of Earth Spell and Sanctum Spell to utilize Evocation and Conjuration[Creation or Summoning] spells one level before the Wizards.

SCM is generally valuable for increasing a Sorc's versatility (all those potential summons definitely help), and with so many great feat options, there's definitely a lot to gain.
