Q146: This is driving me nuts: I could have sworn I'd seen a spell called "Detonate" (or something along those lines), level 9 Evocation [fire] I believe, that killed a character and dealt up to 20d6 to other creatures within 20 ft or so. I can't find the source again. Does it ring a bell for anyone?
A 146: Righteous Aura - Paladin 4. Spell Compendium p. 177 maybe?
Oh I'm sorry no, I wasn't clear: the spell kills a character (creature, really) other than the caster :D. It's basically a save or die.

Q142:  Is there a list of good persistable (or even just good) arcane buffs anywhere?  Specifically, gish buffs, but i'm interested in general caster buffs too.

Player's Handbook II, page 109
Detonate: Sor/Wiz 9th level evocation [death, fire].  Target creature makes a Fort save.  A successful save deals 7d6 fire damage to the target.  A failed save makes the target explode into ash, dealing 20d6 fire damage in a 20 ft radius burst around it (Reflex for half).

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.

Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH!
Behind door number 2: A magic crown!
Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY!
They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time.  I give you much fu.

Once you have 5th level spells Recaster 2 should get it on your list if you don't mind being a changeling and losing a caster level.  I've seen it used to get Favor of the Martyr for daze immunity and Celerity shenanigans.

Q147

For the life of me, I can't remember what book this was in; It was basically an evil unicorn, the creature description literally said as much, but I can't remember for the life of me where I read it.

It was definitely a 3.5 book, but my searching has revealed nothing.

Helps!
Kinda back, in a limited sense. Currently working on a decent sized "I'm back!" project.

It depends on what you want to do. I like Paladin's SpC spells. They're pretty good.

Q149:

Is the bonus skill point gained by selecting the Nymphs Kiss feat at level 1 multiplied by 4?

A149: No. Only the skill points from class/HD and Int are multiplied by 4. All other skill point gains remain as normal unless stated otherwise (such as the Human skill point bonus).

Q151: RAW, can wondrous items be crafted at a higher CL? If so can I get a rules quote and what the price difference is without the custom item guidelines (which aren't rules)?

I doubt it, as that is what the custom item guidelines are for...

Good catch.

Q 152 Our group just fought a human ranger with a crossbow. Now I know rangers pretty well, and I can't think for the life of me a time that a ranger had a crossbow combat style, short of taking the new feats given out for Pathfinder. Does anyone know of a book somewhere that gives such a style?
