Q113 Where are the rules for trading domains for feats? Is that any feat? or just certain feats? How's it work?

A113: Only the Devotion feats can be traded for and only the corresponding domains can be traded.  Complete Champion has all the rules.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Q 114 If firing a twin, split, empowered enervation, and you happen to roll a 1 (giving you 1.5 from the empowered), do you do 1 negative level, or do you round up to 2?

If you're rolling individually for each ray, then you roll 4d4 and multiply each result by 1.5, so 1 stays 1, 2 becomes 3, 3 becomes 4, and 4 becomes 6.

Remember, you ALWAYS round down.

Q105

When an Artificer makes magic items, lets say a scroll. He counts has being his Artificer level +2 for "casting the spells".

So a 3rd level Artificer would be able to count as a 5th level Wizard and could craft scrolls of 3rd level, but they would have a CL of 3. Such as a scroll with a 3d6 Fireball on it.

What if i wanted to craft a scroll of an assassin spell. Would i count as being a 5th level assassin and then be able to craft a scroll or wand of a 3rd level assassin spell?

Basically my question is, do i count as a member of all the different classes and prestige classes as if i had levels in those prestige classes equal to my artificer level + 2?

If so, wont that end with a level 7 artificer who would be able to make scrolls of level 9 spells from the ur-priest, apostle of peace, beholder mage list?
For the assassin and Apostle of Peace, RAW yes, since it has it's own list to draw from, though your DM may declare otherwise because normally you need a certain number of levels to get into it. For the UP or BM, no. They do not have their own lists, they cast from another list (Cleric, and Sor/Wiz respectively), albeit at an accelerated manner. You don't treat yourself as a member of a class, you just have an effective caster level when attempting to emulate those spells for crafting purposes.

Q 116: Are there rules for suffering inhaling smoke?
Quote from: srd "smoke inhalation"
Smoke Inhalation
Forest fires naturally produce a great deal of smoke. A character who breathes heavy smoke must make a Fortitude save each round (DC 15, +1 per previous check) or spend that round choking and coughing. A character who chokes for 2 consecutive rounds takes 1d6 points of nonlethal damage. Also, smoke obscures vision, providing concealment to characters within it.

1 What happens if a creature has more than one attack that initiates a free grapple? ( like a scorpion with two claw attacks. Can it grab its victim twice to squeeze with both pincers each turn? )

2 If you trip someone with improved trip, can you use the free attack to initiate a grapple?

3 What happens when someone is knocked prone and grappled at the same time?

4 Can you affect a half-dragon character with a Hold Person or is he not human enough and requires Hold Monster ?

1) You cannot initiate more than one grapple at a time. In your example, if the scorpion hit with one claw attack, it could automatically deal damage with the second pincer attack (assuming, of course, he hit on the first swing, i.e. he has attacks left.)
2) Yes.
3) The penalties/bonuses are cumulative. So even if he gets free he still needs to spend a move action to get up. (Perhaps strangely, his attacker need not be prone to grapple.)
4) A half-dragon receives the dragon type, so Hold Person doesn't work. (Hold Monster probably wouldn't either, if it's a paralysis effect, which dragons are immune to.)

Good thing I play-test difficult battles before challenging players then... If that guy can't be held, someone will have to tank him...

Could you re-phrase answer 1? I don't think I get it.

It basically goes like this: let's say the scorpion has 4 pincer attacks.
In the event that he hits with at least one of them, he initiates a grapple.

Possibilities:

1st strike hits - initiates grapple and deals damage three times.
Miss the 1st, hit the 2nd - initiates grapple, deals damage twice.
Miss 1st and 2nd, hit third - initiates grapple, deals damage once.
Miss all but fourth - initiates grapple.

Note that subsequent damage from further attacks only happens if the contested roll is successful.

Use the URL tag in your post:

["URL"=http://<address>]"Word"[/"URL"]

Without the quotes. (You CAN add quotes in the word portion though.)

Q117aSo, level, then skills, then you can use level/skills to qualify for feats? Where in the PHB? is there a section for it, or is it implied in the order the chapters are in? pg 58 thank you ILM

Q118 Is there a simple way for a wizard or cleric to get the bard spell improvise? What about scrolls, what would that take?

Well as to feats specifically, page 87 says that you can take a feat the same level as you gain the prerequisites.

Page 58 has the order in which you do level up stuff: class, BAB, saves, ability points, HP, skills, feats, spells, other class features.

Iron Body or Stone Body can both prevent it and are persistable, but I dunno about mitigation/healing.
