I think when people want to see someone beating up someone else "as a monk", they mean relying on the monk's class abilities and features.

Yes, you could totally do it as monk 5/ur-priest 2/enlighten fist, but what's the point of this?

I think in this situation we need a true Joker. Only Giacomonk would beat a hornet devil with his wide array of stunts. I suggest wand of blood wind and killing the devil from the distance :)

I've seen many people feel that way, and you're probbably right but hey we're reaching here.
I gotta ask you though, does beating them as a monk mean something like only beathing them with stunning fist? I'm not being sarcastic, just curious, I apparently get shoved into a "hate templates pile" of poster, which is nonsense, I'd like to hear what you have to say about that, I know Its not just me.

Well what I suggested with the Dragonborn, could also be done by Saint Dragonborn Mongrelfolk Commoner 9 / Fist of the Forest 1.  Or replace commoner with basically any other base class in D&D.  Sure being a monk helps a little bit since it means you're getting WIS to AC twice, but other than that, this build can be more or less the same with or without monk.
Are you worthy of Ascension?

I agree. Flat out.
There is this though... at what point does it become unacceptable. I KNOW we don't mean this has to be a
human monk. If we give it wings, or armorplating as a warforged, or powerful build, or whisper gnome...
This is actually just bleed over from another thread, I'll stop. Sorry gents its on my mind.

If you're ethereal when you fire it off, it stays in the ethereal plane unless it's ghost touch or somesuch.

Do we have to use the normal monk? I'd prefer wild monk 6/Master or Many Forms 6.

Wild monk has alignment restrictions that prevent VoP, but those can be waved for the sake of testing pretty easily.

If you're ethereal when you fire it off, it stays in the ethereal plane unless it's ghost touch or somesuch.
I think Ghost touch only works Material-->Etheral, not the otherway around.
Puts a bit of a damper on my build, but doens't knock it off.

Ghost Touch does nothing for Material/Ethereal.  Only Corporeal/Incorporeal.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea.

But ethereal ghosts can still wield ghost touch weapons. And the quality description says it works as incorporeal or corporeal, whichever is more beneficial to the wielder.

So it works both ways.

The 20% miss chance and 10% chance the devil saves are acceptable to me. Expecially when its staggered for a round after words.

Though if fucking stunning fist lasted a fucking half second longer it wouldn't be an issue.
