Yeah...
Any talk about how a deck of collectable cards is now a mandatory part of 4e?
My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
If they rerelease the Planescape campaign setting with Planeswalkers, I think we might be in trouble.

I was positive about them, over at wotc boards.

Now that I've looked at the price ... holy :banghead cow.

$4 for 8 cards = $.50 per card.
Each one represents basically a 1/day "power".
So a $40 book would have just 80 powers in it ?!
Oh wait, they've already done that multiple times.

EDIT --- not 1/day rather , 1/encounter possibly a little more.

Plus you can play them roughly as often as you like. Granted, they're situational, but it's still an unnecessary level of complexity.

Looks like the wotc co board, is having quite the b-!@$# fest about these cards.

The use seems to me:
(1) ... the smallest deck, to cycle through to the "good" card you want, as many times as possible.
(2) ... whatever is generally favorable, and otherwise stick with previous schtick build goals
(2a) ... Stun-locker that does cartwheels, weee-weeee

Requiring first a massive dumpster dive through all the cards.
Then in non-T.O. or LFR play,  you're stuck with having to have the actual card(s).
