Q 1 Which was better? 1986 animated Transformers movie, or 2007 Transformers movie?

Although admittedly, anything with Peter Cullen in it, is win.

Loved the soundtrack for '86. It's timeless.

A1

Classic Transformers are always a win.

Q2

I want to make sure on this.  If someone uses a crossbow they use Dex for the attack roll.  Do they use Dex also for the damage roll or just the straight die of the x-bow?

Edit:  Now if only I can find the youtube video of someone who did the Universial Greeting and attached hand motions to it.  Epic I thought.

A 2: Just the crossbow itself unless you get the feats, like crossbow sniper. In which case you use 1/2 your Dex modifier for added damage.

A1 I don't know, I never saw the 1986 one, but the 2007 one blew donkey balls hard. So I hope the old one was better or the fans are all ninnies.
Monks are pretty much the best designed class ever.

You haven't? Oh dude, that's a crime. Especially with how easy it is to get movies these days.

I like the vortex, too, though the "eye" isn't big enough for two people.

It has a 5-foot radius, so a 10-foot diameter.  You can fit 4 people in it on the ground and 12 more in the air.  Since spectres can fly, 6 of them can fit in the eye with the cleric and druid while still being able to attack.  The other 2 can wait higher up in the eye.  Every spectre gets a turn between when the spell comes into effect and when it first deals damage, and they're intelligent, so I don't think they'll stay put to take the damage.

It's the universal greeting.

Where's it from, though? I know that one of the units in Warcraft 3 said it as an annoyed response (Demon Hunter or Pit Fiend, I think). Is it originally from somewhere else?

Scratch that. Google says it's from the Transformers movie, which explains Q1.

Q 4 Is there a base class arcane spellcaster that gains spell progression like a wizard, but uses Charisma instead of Intelligence?

Not that I can think of.

Alternatively: Kobold sorcerers with greater draconic rite.

Anyway, what feats are there that change your type besides
-otherworldly (outsider)
-dragonwrought (dragon)
-human heritage (humanoid(human))
Being able to swap around your type after applying a template is pretty cool.

Actually, is there a type-changing handbook?

What about Sha'ir from Dragon Compendium?

:twitch How does that even work? They get wizard progression for spells, but they have sorcerer known spells? So they can cast 2nd level spells at 3rd level, but they don't know any until 4th?

Plenty of spells can change type. Rituals from SS allow type changes. That's all I got though. I'm sure there is more.

Q5: I'm looking for something to pair with bard to start up Ultimate Magus - ideally it would get to 2nd level prepared arcane spells pretty quickly, although i'd be open to Arcane Preparation (?) bullcrap if there's something interesting and thematic out there for a bard/something/UM/SubChord/UM||Vampire/Dirgesinger/Lyric Thaumaturge.

Sha'ir spellcasting is confusing, the spell's known are not the only spells that it can cast.....
It would be able to cast level 2 spell at level 3 but he would have to wait longer for his gen familiar to retrieve those spells.....
