Q 168 If a player wanted to do a monster race through the Savage Species progression, how do I go about giving him starting gold at level 1? It's likely a minotaur isn't going to get the same gold as a pixie or medusa.

A168 As far as I know there aren't any rules on that.....
You should decide depending on the campaign world,(for example dragonlance Minotaurs are much more civilized and thus likely to have more money than minotaurs on others worlds.....
But less civilized minotaurs are more likely to whack someone for their loot.

Hey! Perfect adventurer material!

I'd find the closest equivalent in the classes, and use that. A minotaur would have barbarian starting money, for instance.
I was actually wondering about that. The problem might be for those who have two base classes that could work, but maybe I'll give them the average (like the average starting gold for a bard is 100 and fighter is 150 could be 125).

Q 167b Follow-up. I accept the link for LA +0, but is there a link for LA +1 to LA +4? Like tieflings to half-fiends?

Improved feint: the whole point of this feat is to set the enemy up for a sneak attack if you have no friend to flank him?

Pretty much. Strictly worse than going invisible though.

Q164: Are there any means for a Fire Shugenja to basically get Searing Spell for free? (In that it costs no slot adjustment, but getting the feat itself isn't a bad idea.)

Bumpity bump!

Q170: There was a book, that had some really good spells for arrows, and they were exclusive to the the Ranger and Assassin spell lists. I believe the book may have been FR. Which is it, and where can I find the spells? Am I insane?

It's CoR. They're very decent spells, even if some DMs considering them a little broken.

The only way to make a good feinting build is to use the Invisible Blade from Complete Warrior and the Surprising Riposte feat from Drows of the Underdark.
However, if you succeed with this, consider working in Ijautsu Master, since Surprising Riposte causes them to go flat-footed.

I know they had Arrow Split.

Q163: When in wildshape as a plant (trent), do I get plant traits e.g. immunities etc.?
A163: Polymorph and spells based on it do give you types and subtypes, so you'd gain the abilities granted by those types and subtypes.

A [fire] creature for instance would grant you fire immunity and cold vulnerability. Hitting up a [fire]-subtyped plant would also give you all those plant goodies as well.

Wild shape, not so much.
Thanks for your help, but I just got 3 conflicting answers. Does anyone know the latest errata and a link to an answer to this question?

Bump.

Other than pearls of power and mementos magica, are there items that allow a spellcaster to regain spell slots?

And as for feinting builds, I don't think that you necessarily need invisible blade (alternatives are assassin w/ insightful feint or dread pirate), but you definitely need Surprising Riposte.  Certainly invisible blade is the most consistent and longest lasting way to do it, though.

Wild Shape is based on Alternate Form.
Quote from:
The creature retains the type and subtype of its original form. It gains the size of its new form. If the new form has the aquatic subtype, the creature gains that subtype as well.
So no, you don't get Plant immunities.  You can read the details for yourself in the SRD:
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/druid.htm#wildShape

Polymorph (and metamorphosis) grant types and subtypes, and thus grant everything that a type (or subtype) grants.

From the SRD:
Quote
The subject’s creature type and subtype (if any) change to match the new form.

As I said before, wildshape, however, not so much.

Rary's is nice, but being slightly limited to only prepared casters makes it annoying. Anything else, specifically stuff that can help spontaneous casters?
