Q 74 If a dragon is immune to 'paralysis effects' (Monster Manual 308), and having 0 Dex makes you paralyzed (PH 304), then why do people say that Shivering Touch (maximized) can take out a (red?) dragon? Isn't having 0 Dex a paralysis effect?

A74  Forgive me if I am wrong but I would think the immunity comes from any spells of abilities that give the "paralysis " but not to losing Dex.  Shivering Touch does not give the paralysis it effects a stat.

Q75  This one should be easy.  Anyone know where I can find a handy list of published 3.5 Flaws?  I know of D&D wiki but a lot of those are home brew.  If anything where can I find more Flaws other then UA?  Thanks

It isn't a paralysis effect.  The SRD is summarizing and adding confusion.

Q76:  Say I wanted to get Mettle on a Wizard.  What is the best way to do so?  The two better ways I can think of are a dip into either Pious Templar or Witch Slayer, but I can't tell whether it's better to set two feats on fire or to lose one fewer caster level.

I forgot to mention that I checked pretty much every single entry in that list, and that I'm not looking to play an Abjuration specialist, hence why I'm talking about Pious Templar and Witch Slayer and using qualifiers like "best" or "better."

Q77: Which version of the Hammer power is to be used, the SRD one or the XPH one? Also, does it kinda work like Wraithstrike or am I wrong? Like, would you be able to, assuming you took the shape of a Twelve-Headed Hydra, make twelve touch attacks?

Q 78 Does the Tauric template (SS 132) just have LA +2? The wording is very, very strange.

Here you go.  just scroll down and select the "flaws" button, then scroll down some more and hit "find".

A78
well, SS did come ofter MM2; however, the Update Booklet is most recent ... so the LA is actually "base humaniod + 3".  :p  (though, my SS says "+1" ... )

don't forget about the racial HD.
If I were to make a tauric goliath-rhino, it would have 9 HD (1+8) and a +4 LA (1+3) -- for an ECL of 13.

of course, if you ask me, with all those racial HD, I'd be inclined to use the SS's "+1" LA .... I mean, seriously, a bunch of sub-standard HD, no class features, etc., with only a hand-full of physical stat boosts to make up for it.   :facepalm

[spoiler]
If you stop ignoring 289 pages telling what the intent is to stretch "more power" in your own god complexion of your interpretation trumps all to cover ability adjustments from aging then I will ignore a quarter page of rules that exist within a sidebar.
I think in this case the grammar is less important than whether the Str and Dex bonus provided to your created undead scales.

Thanks for the quick answer, my group meets in two hours :P

Is the Goliath Medium? Tauric humanoid can only be Small or Medium. Anyway, the base creatures in question are a Water Ork and a Fleshraker. Fleshraker has a racial 4 HD, and no adjustment on the Ork. That would add to +5 from SS...or +7 if I went with the lamer one, correct?

That would be using what you found. In MY SS the +1 is in the CR...as I said, it is worded very strangely.

The LA is only based off of the Humanoid portion (by the way, Goliath can't have the template applied because it's the wrong type).  This does allow you to get crazy physical ability scores without high LA (racial HD are another story).
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Actually Tauric is only for Humanoids & Monstrous Humanoids, so Goliath works.  You're thinking of Lycanthropy.

again, it depends on which one you read ... MM2 says only humaniod, SS says humaniod or monstrous humanoid. :shrug

- yes, goliath is meduim (powerful build does not change actual size)

for your water orc/fleshracker .... it would be 5 racial HD (4 + 1), LA as per which book you use (1 or 3) ; for an ECL of either 6 or 8 (again, depending on which book as per LA).

Don't forget that you have to add the animal's and humanoid's HD together to get your creature racial HD ..... the template specifically talks about how "a humanoid that normally has a class instead of 1 Hit Die counts as a 1 HD creature"

yeah, I was just pointing out that you had initially said "+2 LA"  :p

Q79

Not sure if this is simple, but is there a way for a Telflamar Shadowlord to get around Anticipate Teleportation (besides the stereotypical "hit it with dispel until it's gone" thing)

Q80 Can one get extra uses out of a natural attack by using bounding assault/rapid blitz?

note: my earlier question (#70) was due to wording of haste, saying it effects a weapon held.  Thanks for the clarification that it still works.

A 80: Yes.

The main limitation on natural weapons is you don't get extra natural weapon attacks for having a high base attack bonus.  Extra attacks from Haste, Whirlwind Attack, Attacks of Opportunity, Rapid Blitz and the like aren't from a high base attack bonus.

A 81: Righteous Might says it won't stack, so you have to assume that it instead overlaps.  That means if you're under effect of Expansion and Righteous Might at the same time, you'd use the bigger values from the two (both bonuses and penalties).

Q 82:  Are there any low-level (1-3) cleric spells of the Necromancy school, which deal damage and can hit multiple times per cast (preferably AoO-capable)?  Something like Blade of Pain and Fear, but from the Necromancy school.

I'm looking to create a small undead army without paying the material components price via Divine Metamagic: Fell Animate, and I want to do the killing with a necromancy spell so that Corpsecrafter + Destruction Retribution apply even if the DM is being a stickler about the feats applying to "undead you raise or create with any necromancy spell".

Q83

Is there anyway pre-epic for a human psion to get 3 focus's, so they can apply 3 metapsionic feats onto a single power?
