Urglmek says "You know, you must have some really big juevos to come in here like you did, knowing what you'd probably be facing, given the rumors about this place. And from what I see, without a speck of magic on your entire body! I almost admire you. That takes some dedication. Or a real special case of insanity. It'll almost be a shame to kill you."

Initiative results:
Urglmek: 21
R2: 20
Cuthbertite: 20
Autpek: 17
Sarai: 14
Enna: 8
Kyrish: 5

This should be a short enough fight that we won't need to change threads.
Urglmek decides that rescuing the guy who was coming to see them might be a priority, and so picks him up off the ground and begins flying back towards the keep.

He says to the man "Don't struggle against me if you want to live."
He'll head towards the window he flew out of I guess, unless there is an easy to access parapet or something. If this guy is prone and bound, I figured I could carry him around like an object, instead of having to use the grapple rules. If you want me to do something else, that's no problem.

Almost forgot my Initiative: 1d20+2=14

Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn."
Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".

My final project for my film independent study course. It could do with a watching and critiquing

The bound man peers up at Urglmek in confusion but offers no resistance. The St. Cuthbertite calls up, "Fleeing my sword will not save you from the Cudgel. Law impose itself on this wretched house!" A burst of blue-white energy spreads out from the window in a perfect cubical shape.
Although normally I despise alignment-based spells, I'll make an exception for this guy.

Order's Wrath: 4d8=16 And yes, R2 recognizes the spell as an Order's Wrath. The Will save DC is 18. Sarai's the only chaotic one in the group, so her Will save is to cut the damage down to 8 and prevent a daze effect. R2, Autpek, and Kyrish aren't chaotic, so they take 8 damage on a failed save and 4 on a success. Urglmek, ironically, doesn't take any damage since he's lawful in the first place. :P
Actions
If anyone wants me to take half damage for you, just say the word.

Walk up the the window. Look out the window at the crazy man. Shoot the crazy man with Cryo Core freeze rays. Then monologue.
Rolls
Will save (DC 18) vs. Order's Wrath: (16)+16=32, (16)+1=17. Autpek passes (4 damage), R2 fails (8 damage; split with Autpek).

Attack Rolls w/ Cryo Core (4 energy): (4)+12=16; (15)+10=25; (6)+8=14; (17)+6=23; (13)+4=17 against Touch AC (don't forget the +1 Dodge bonus from Fractured whatever the incursion is called).
Miss Chance rolls: 85; 72; 52; 68; 19 so the 5th attack misses (the roll of 13+4=17).
Damage rolls: (5)+5=10; (4)+5=9; (1)+5=6; (2)+5=7; (5)+5=10, but the last one failed the miss chance so the total is only 32 cold damage if all 4 others hit.

Oh, and if at least 2 rays dealt damage, Cuthbert is entangled. If 3 hit, he's also staggered. If 4 hit, he has to make a DC 24 Fort save or be stunned, too. The effects last one round.
Autpek shoots a volley of icy blasts at the St. Cuthbertite and says, "Sir, you need to calm down and explain yourself properly. I could understand if you had legitimate grievances and dealt with them in a respectable manner, but this whole 'holier than thou art a sinner so burn' attitude really does not make your case. Why don't you take some time to think, maybe chill for a bit? And yes, I know that sounds corny and cliche, but I've been dying to say it ever since I made this thing."

Two of the icy blasts strike the Cuthbertite, hampering his movement. He flinches slightly.
Will save based ability? Really? And I'm TN, by the way, not Chaotic.
Will save: 1d20+12=13 Shouldn't have said anything.
"Aiyee! That hurt, you bastard!"

Suddenly, Sarai seems to become far more interesting to look on, though no-one can explain exactly why; she looks as if she was the most beautiful person those in the crowd had ever seen.
I've just used an Empowered Entrancing Presence. Will save DC 16. I'm choosing to autofail my will save, knocking Sinister Persuasion up to second level.
"And as for you, Cuthbertite."
Battered Resolve on Mr. Cuthbertite, using my move action. Will save DC 21; if he fails the save, he will do anything to get out of the fight for the next minute. I'm using my 1/encounter free breach, by the by. As a move action, naturally.

And by the way, the following is now in effect within my incursion:
"At the start of each round, a creature may choose a square with which they have a line of sight. If they do, they perceive the world through the chosen square rather than through their own square."
*Will saves everyone.*
Entrancing Presence, Battered Resolve (1d20+7=12, 1d20+7=24)
Most of the crowd, including the Cuthbertite, go slack-jawed, staring entranced at Sarai. Those who aren't mesmerized start to run, dropping their makeshift weapons and tripping over themselves in panic.

Kyrish starts to speak gibberish.
Recitation of the Unclouded Eye (DC 11): 35  Actually a 39 because I forgot my +4 for knowing my own truename.   :p

Slick the Surface (DC 15): 41

I know everybody's HP that I can see, but I'm only concerned about the Cuthbertite.

Also, a 10ft. by 10ft. space centered around the Cuthbertite becomes covered with a slippery substance. Anybody who moves through the square must make a DC 10 Balance check or fall prone. Standing up requires another Balance check against the same DC.  This lasts five rounds.

Nanshork:
The random crowd members have anywhere between 2 and 6 hitpoints, while the Cuthbertite has 44.
Kyrish's words seem to resonate and penetrate the confusion. To his eyes, the remnants of the crowd, except for the Cuthbertite, glow blue. Simultaneously, a slick substance seems to seep from somewhere underneath the crowd, tripping up a few fleeing members of the mob.

R2 will continue to scan the battlefield to see what spell effects are around. Here are a few Spellcraft checks, if you need.

Autpek will ready an action to freeze Cuthbert or anyone who does anything threatening towards us (assuming that he knows and recognizes Entrancing Presence's and Battered Resolve's effects). If that readied action will break it, he'll just grab a wand of lesser vigor from his handy haversack ring and offer to try and make it work on anyone who needs healing (UMD +13, so a 70% chance to make a wand work).
Those check results are enough to identify the effects as they went off, so you've got a good idea of what the effects are. Freezing the Cuthbertite would probably qualify as an aggressive action. No one except the Cuthbertite looks particularly wounded--Marie is just unconscious.
I just meant to ready an action to freeze him, not to actually freeze him. If so much as readying the action will break the effect, then I'll just work the wand on somebody. Since nobody needs healing, I guess I just have a wand in my hand.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering how Cuthbert has a touch AC of 16 in heavy armor without any spells. So far, I've ruled out Dex due to the heavy armor, Law Devotion due to a lack of magical effects, and I don't know what else is around. You don't need to tell me, I'm just curious.

Sarai harrumphs over the fact that she didn't get everyone, and attempts to use her powers again... In a flash, her interesting visage seems a little less so, and she quickly employs several more tricks
I drop Entrancing Presence. I use a Hastened Deception of Perfection on the tied up guy; we might as well get some good info from him. The DC is 27, by the way. I then use plain old Battered Resolves on the Cuthbertite, with a DC of 32
Will save vs. Murmur level increase: 1d20+12=31
Failed, darn.

If you have access to 3rd level breaches, creatures can move through the area without actually passing through it. The movement rate of all creatures within range is halved but whenever a creature moves, they teleport to the desired square.
The compelling aura around Sarai snaps, leaving the last dregs of the mob free to run screaming in terror. The Cuthbertite snaps out of his daze an instant before his eyes slip momentarily out of focus. He backs away as best he can with Autpek's ice hindering his footsteps, weapon held unsteadily before him. "You remain alive for now. Begone from this place before Cuthbert's wrath returns in its full might if you wish to continue your tainted existence."
