Hi, I'm Avatar of Kokusho, known as the same on the jacked-up mess that was once the Wizards' forum, and I am also an admin over at MTGS. I followed the link here due to extreme displeasure with the current management style, and hope that discussions here will be more to my liking,

Considering some of the names I've seen here, I'm fairly sure that's going to be the case.

Oh, and I want that "flipping the bird" smiley.

Hi, I'm known here and at GitP as Imperious Leader, and infrequently post at WotC and EN World as Vael (name of my Eberron Changeling Sorcerer). I haven't been gaming long, I started RPGing with DnD 3.5, so this is my first edition change, and I'm amused at all the rhetoric and hyperbole flying around. I'm looking forward to 4e, because I tried to DM 3.5 and found it a major headache, so I'm hoping 4e will make it easier. I also hope that the online initiatives work, because the people I game with are scattered across the GTA, which makes it difficult to play, though I have my doubts.

I hail from Canada, and when I'm not engaged in various forms of science fiction and fantasy geekery, I'm on the dance floor doing ballroom and Lindy Hop trying to drop the pounds.

It's a bit late for this, but I figure I may as well...

I'm Dan, I post as Aramil_Delanur over on the WotC boards.

I used to be a lurker (still am to an extent), but I became active when I joined these boards.

I like to help out, especially on the boards.  :)

Ender's Game (and the bean sequels to some extent) is brilliant as are some of his other works.  Everything I've heard about the man as a person has been bad though.

Is there a Semi-official Introductions Thread?  I was directed here from Abuse (Gleemax) down the hall.  I've been around since min-max.  I tend to act as CO grout, nothing mind blowing just a few observations and additions.  I lost my really old login but I've been Olothfaern for years.

I'm originally a New Yorker, now a Californian and I've been playing various forms of D&D since 4th grade (1984).

Atheist/Progressive/Co-op capitalist (semi-socialist?)

I started MtG with the beta set and stopped around the time of the Silver Wyvern/Shaman En Cor combo.

non D&D cv:
Ars Magica
WoD
Earthdawn/Shadowrun (yes, I was an immortal elf)
Star Wars (d20)
Shatterzone
Cortex (Serenity/BSG)
Atlantean games
some other obscure ones

favorite quote in this thread:

Ohio is a part of hell.  My direct proof is the horrible summer I spent in Youngstown in 1983...

I miss winter (especially snow).

I listen to Hip-Hop then in descending order:  R&B (Funk [think E,W&F], contemporary neo-soul, the rest), Classic Rock/Grunge, weird mid 90's stuff like Madder Rose, Classical (started playing keyboards when I was four and Chopin is still the shit), bad 80's crap like Hall and Oates/Devo/the hair band de jour, and other assorted nonsense (like Postal Service)--- music is on all the time, refuse to exist without it.

I'm new here as well. Unfortunately I did not find this thread until after a few posts. I always feel akward barging into a new forum but this one seems casual and inviting (or more so then some).
I play D&D (obviously), MtG, and Guild Wars to name a few.
Typical, I would expect, escp. among fellow geeks.

We are all about the barging in at Brilliant Gameologists.  Think "Walk in on your roommate having sex and unphased, ask the question you were going in to ask anyway."

Welcome welcome!

Olothfaern, I could copy much of your intro for my own if I were to do one.  'Cept I wasn't in the Army.

And I'd love to hear what you would say about our Origins Awards Lightning Review show... Josh rags on the Cortex stuff pretty hard.

Well, let's see here. I'm obviously a migrant from the Char Op Wizards' boards, where I got most of my experience with D&D, and most of my group was unmotivated. I'm an 18 yr old college student who's been stuck in Montana all their life :P. Haven't really had much experience with Pen and Paper RPGs, though I've looked over the rules for GURPS, nWoD, and M&M (which is the next system I want to try out). Other than that, most of my gaming is computers, with a little WH40K and M:tG on the side.

Other interesting include reading (Orsen Scott Card, Jordan, Goodkind, and almost anything else I can get my hands on), music (especially melodic death metal, such as In Flames, and metalcore bands, though have pretty eclectic tastes in general). Working on completing a bachelor's in biology, but that's a few years away.

and also: disappointed in 4e and will probably dabble in it, but manly yoink anything interesting and convert it for use in 3.5e.

Hey,

I'm Bejik, at least on these forums. I came here from the old WotC forums after the crash. As suggested by that I play lots of D&D and am a chronic optimizer. I also play Exalted, my group switches off week to week, and have a lot of fun with it. I don't post often, try to restrict it to when I feel I have something worthwhile to say, but that is just my lurking nature. Most of my gaming, and posting, takes place around my studies, college is annoying sometimes. So that's my story, I'm sticking to it.
Maybe I'll reconstruct my sig from the WotC boards, maybe not, have to see.

Heya,

I'm Tom, a 16 year old that has just recently got into PnP RPGs, I've played Video game RPGs as long as I can remember though. Anyway other interests include track, basketball, and music.
I feel lighter. Maybe I lost some weight with all that dilly-dallying.

Hi!

Facts about me:
  • This is the first board I've really ever joined.
  • I always end up playing Druids in DnD campaigns because I seriously cannot help myself. I've tried playing as other things that interested me (like sorcerers, ninjas, or paladins-don't yell at me, I know they aren't AMAZING classes!) and no matter what, I eventually make another druid.
  • I dressed up as a Druid for Megacon (08) and had my picture in the newspaper there. Apparently the reporter thought it was a good costume. I think it needed studded leather and a weapon, frankly.
  • I know of a few of you... basically because I annoy After Crescent and watch him as he plays on the boards. I also annoy SDK, but that's purely on AIM.
  • I like Pokemon, I used to collect the cards and watch the anime on TV. I also have a big Pikachu pillow that I sleep with every night. He's been through a lot. Guys tend to molest him.
  • I play video games and kick some serious butt in them. I play as Pokemon Trainer (for fun) or Pikachu (when it's time to start winning) in Brawl, and I'm Baby Peach in Mario Kart Wii. Challenge me to a game or two, but don't cry when you lose. :D
  • I like to talk smack while playing video games  :lol
  • I joined this because I need to learn more about DnD (I suck at character creation), and also because I'm bored and I needed something to preoccupy my time with
  • I also really like these animated smiley things :review

People usually think that I've lost my mind. I haven't lost it, I know exactly where it is: the gutter.

My body is a temple. That is why I make chocolate sacrifices in it every day.

Neema, not sure how much d20 Modern talk we have here, but check this childboard out. It's the place for non-D&D d20 discussion.

Hi. I'm Boz, which is the same username I use on pretty much everything, but you can call me Seabass if you feel the need to. (It arose from my given name and my section leader in band when I was a freshman.) I came from the WotC boards.

I like video games, playing trumpet (and by extension, listening to music), reading Terry Pratchett and re-reading Saberhagen (among others), and tabletop RPGs. (Stop the presses.)

My quirks include a highly active imagination, a burning desire to answer questions that arise from the aforementioned imagination, and a dislike of actual work, which isn't a great combination. Happily, I also have enough willpower to force myself to solve these problems most of the time.

I do know a fair few of the people here. I tend to be relatively quiet both on and off forums, so they may not recognize me. Anyway, looking forward to a bright future here without Gleemax (Zing, as they say in the vernacular.)
