Introductions Thread! Who are you?
« on: May 01, 2008, 03:11:44 AM »
So...here's a place for folks to come and introduce themselves to the community. Feel free to just say 'hiya' or share a little bit more about yourself.

I'll go first...

Hiya! I'm new here (first post). :D

I'm a gamer girl in my early thirties, married to a wonder man, who I met (oddly enough) on the WotC boards. In addition to gaming I also enjoy working on our new house (new to us anyways), reading, and playing video and computer games.

I've known Meghan and Josh for about 6 years...mostly via the internet/message boards, but also meeting up twice in Indianapolis for Gen Con (met Zeke there too) and once in Las Vegas for...um...well, let's just say a good time was had by all.

All right...now it's your turn...

Tevish Szat, oldtimer on Gleemax/WotC, newbie here (for now).  For reference and proper use of 3rd person pronouns, I am male.

I play Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons, but I've been looking to extend my RPG horizons... not to mention develop my own d20 based system (it started as a campaign setting that required a few tweaked or alternate core classes and just sorta snowballed...)

Currently in college.

OK, so I'm not new, but I'm probably new to the new people here...

I was an old timer on the Wizards boards (Gleemax ate my password, so I stopped going), mostly on the D&D side but I was also a Meta Board Pigeon on the Magic side (I don't play, but I like the artwork).

Apparently Meg hated me when she met me at Gen Con, but Josh and Zeke showed her the error of her ways.  Or at least broke down her resistances, take your pick.
Visit my Message Boards (they're strangely familiar) and my Blog...

If you look at the entire history of the RPG industry, you'll see the same, long, sad story: a mountain of conventional wisdom, usually backed by selective listening, that leads to a long chain of failed games and bad ideas. - Mike Mearls

It's damned fine to have all of you here. Especially Kai and the other members of Geekistan's ruling council.

Hai.  I'm archerpwr at gleemax, dicefreaks, and GiTP.  Ubernoob here and myth-weavers.  I'm one of the CO regulars that just swarmed the board.  Male if it matters.  Located in Texas finishing my senior year of high school.

My name is Logan.  I run Heroic Cthulhu (mostly) and podcast all of the actual play (over 25 gigs worth) as well as a new thing we're doing called 'Gamer Talk' - just a bunch of gamers sitting around talking about gaming, game philosophy and all of that.

I play a heavily modified BRP system (the Cthulhu system is BRP) because the BRP has severe problems.

I've been gaming for over three decades at 20 hours a week or more.

Not sure what else to say here.

So there is a thread for these things?

Hi people. I am Tshern and I am a CO-holic. Hope that answers your questions.

In the Soviet Optimization Board, optimization breaks you?

I'm American actually. If we can't buy it, we shoot it. Number 1 rule.

Oh well, I still find it odd that you enjoy long walks on pizza.

Hmm..  Didn't notice this thread before.  Prolly a little late to post intro now since I've already been posting but here goes...

I'm known as Bhu pretty much in every forum I post in.  I only know of this place because Meg emailed me (and much is the time I spend wondering how I got picked).  I spend some time in the Wizards boards posting tons of monsters, and biting my tongue so I don't tell the management there to go ____ itself with an iron stick.

I also appear to be infamous for my mild obsession with cats   ;D

Campaigns tend towards surreal silliness or brutally dark with not much in between.

My birth certificate claims I'm a male human, but we all know those can be forged  8)

I live in Ohio, which is apparently some subplane of Hell.  Or at least my own personal hell, I haven't decided which yet.

Sup, I'm Ben.

I'm a CO-lurker primarily, and am a strong believer in practical optimization. My builds are very playable, and tend to avoid "questionable" rule interpretations.

My dirty secret as a COer - I love blaster-mages...love them. It's fun to blow things up...sadly its not viable without arcane thesis cheese, which I think is fine on blasting spells...since thats what it was designed for...unlike enervation....

Currently I'm very pro 4e. I want to have epic adventures against demon lords (not level 12 aspects) and have player turns not take 20+ minutes to resolve. 17+ in 3.5 is a bad game strictly speaking, 7th-8th level spells are bad, 9th level spells...well you probably know.

Hi,

Just joined, saw the link that Autumn posted on Wizard's CO boards. I've been lurking on the CO board for years, only started posting relatively recently. I'm in my early 40s and married.

I play with a group of gamers that tend not to optimize their characters at all, so optimization is mostly a theoretical exercise for me, not something I can actually do in a real game.

I play D&D 3.5, and have played in the past all the previous versions, plus Shadowrun, Earthdawn, Ars Magica, Champions, Feng Shui, Rolemaster and MERPs, among others.

My real life name is Sgt. William Schumann. I like the night life. I like to boogie.

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
