well i am all in favor of Summon + rise dead (he is like what a day or two dead and that spell is good for 7 days time ) on the dwarf and the scroll on our dead druid.

Who? The dwarf? No. More like four hours. Would have likely been shorter, but oh well.

Revenance makes me live for a few minute, which I die afterwards, resetting the timer.
Yeah, I just asked about it on the simple question thread. That is some major cheese.
I've never found it particularly cheesy as a DM that the PCs had a way to bring eachother back to life without a level loss. But if you find it too easy I'm up for taking something else in those slots and using the scroll.

But first, the attacks from the bear, which will probably do nothing.

Ok, remember that the Bear has to take a DC27 Will save or be stunned for a round when it attacks Melkior with the AOO, but since you didn't hit, it probably wont matter. Just remember it after each hit :). (Yeah Karmic Retribution is that good, hopefully our DM doesn't read a persisted version of it to also stun for 24 hours or poor mr. bear is out of the game for trying to attack Melkior).

I prefer Revenance + Revivify on the Druid and Summon on the dwarf, saving the scroll for when we really need it. Such as when one of us gets disintegrated.

No, that's fine. I talked to a DM I knew a few years ago. He happened to come in to work, and I asked him his opinion, since I figured that he was one of the people who I knew would allow that combination, and had him explain why he'd allow it. After we talked, we came to a conclusion that it's basically DM fiat. If it doesn't break the campaign world, and the PC actually pays the material component cost, and you'd like to see the deceased PC brought back, then it's a viable combination so long as it doesn't get abused, and that the NPCs can use it as well against the PCs. I thought that was fair. Your character sheet has a set number of gold set aside for material components. So long as this combination is used on a regular basis, I'm willing to allow it for this and future games.

Yeah, that is my conclusion as well.

Cheese to me is usually something that ruins the game for the players. This doesn't. And due to not being available for past ressurection that much, it can't really be used to raise something ancient and ask questions. I would like to use the combination more. But I'm out of the spells. So not until my character gains some rest will he use it again.

But glad we are agreed.

EDIT: also, instead of you summoning, Alkazar should perhaps just have remembered that he can shapechange himself into an Astral Deva or planetar and Raise dead the dwarf. Even if he doesn't get the cleric spells it still has it as a spell-like ability. Silly me always forgetting my spells.

The attack has to deal damage for it to apply.

Will you be dismissing the spell or waiting out the duration?

I thought I would ask the druid what he prefers, as he gets back up with revenance he is fully him. That's why I tried to write at least.

But if he doesn't tell me what he prefers. I'll just dismiss it and get him back up.

Consider him not waking up from the death, but alive.

Then he'd probably try to wake him up. If that doesn't work, check whether he's alive. He is at half total hit points so waking him up with +16 to heal should be automatic.

Then he'd ask him. Melkior just doesn't want to waste the scroll of true resurrection.

If he doesn't wake up, but seems to breathe, whatever he does. Melkior will dismiss the spell and cast Revivify. If the bear actually hits him he will ask Alkazar to take care of it. Who will turn into something humongus and grapple the bear.

But why does it matter? Is it just for seeing how many attacks the bear will do?

Correct, was merely playing it out as my true control over her actions is limited. I have been playing up mage/druid influince to her thinking some, but she still has only animal Int without being bound to the druid.

That and to type out a proper reply.

Sorry everyone. I thought it strange that no one had said anything on any of the threads I was a part of, and low and behold everyone's been typing posts. I'm about two days behind on everything. I guess the server and Hotmail are having a bit of an argument and not sending me anything. So once I catch up on everything I'll start posting again.

How's everyone looking for spells and stuff? Drexs is willing to part with a few trinkets that he got off of the demons he faced off with prior to coming here, that are of no use to him. He'll give them as a token of good faith since you're going to help him. Despite their value, wealth has very little to offer him. It's all about the hunt.

1 pearl of power (two spells 6th or lower @ 70k)
1 gem of seeing (75k)
1 ring of wizardry III (40k)
1 ring of evasion (25k)

Reason being pearls of power and rings of wizardry don't work with SLA, he's already got a ring of evasion, and has true seeing naturally.

Also, since you fought the cleric the most, roll a Spot check at 20. If you make it, roll a d100. We only need one success.

Fair enough. You could tell him now if you wanted to. Save him a trip.
Presently outside and I assume he is inside, not to mention the 20mins of cast time for the communes.

Yeah he would have gone inside to bring about the astral deva.

Alkazar will gladly receive a ring of wizardry, a ring of evasion and both the pearls if no-one else wants them.

It's one pearl. It just gives you back any two spells of 6th level or lower.

You can ask what you like, and he'll tell you as you guys leave, if you'd like. He probably won't be able to answer all of your questions, but he'll do his best.

Oh, I am supposed to specify more than the subject for commune with nature? I don't usually do the divining, so I don't know. I thought I just selected the subject matter I wanted, and got a general explanation. I can refine it, probably take a few more castings though.

I like to think of it this way. You're trying to talk to someone who doesn't know what colour is, and you're trying to ask them if the pen is blue or red.

The radius of the spell only gets where you all are. If you wanted additional information, you'd have to be at the base of the cliff, down near the actual forest.
